2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C7 COUPE, 7 Speed, 5,444 Miles, with Wide Body Kit by PRIOR Design & Custom-Build by Explicit Airbrush

One-of-a-kind with an amazing look between the $15,000 Prior Design of North America Wide Body Kit designed for C7’s and the 8 month, 800 plus hour custom-build and paint by Explicit Airbrush of Southington, CT.

The paint is a custom color and mix. It took several months of testing to come to this color. The paint goes from a candy red to a black cherry to a super bright copper orange. It is really eye-catching when the light changes on it.

Car has only been in one show: the 2016 Dream Ride for Special Olympics in Farmington, CT and it took first place out of 500 plus cars in the 2005 and newer category.

The owner, for whom we are listing the car, loves projects and is very involved in getting all the details right. He ordered this Stingray new and took delivery the last week of March, 2014. He knew he wanted to customize the car and this project began after a barely noticeable crack in the driver side front fender and nose occurred when another party slowly backed into the car in a Walgreen parking lot, in the summer of 2014. Pictures of the car after that mishap are on the Explicit Airbrush Facebook page along with the build photos.

You don’t see any damage in the photos but up close there were two small cracks. The car drove fine. The cost of replacing the fender and nose was about $4,000 and instead of doing that, the owner started to research what was available to customize his car.

After studying all the options over a period of months, he selected the PDR700 Widebody Aerodynamic-Kit from PRIOR Design, North America based in Pompano Beach, FL.

From the PRIOR site: “The kit fits all C7 Vettes…….. This product is made from high quality FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic). The material is a unique blend of epoxy and flex resin that gives excellent strength, flexibility and light weight. All of our parts are designed and developed in Germany to the highest quality standards. Fit and finish is excellent.” The kit consists of PDR700 Front Bumper including Add-On spoiler and Cupwings, Rear Diffuser, SideSkirts, 2 Front Fenders, Rear Widenings. Owner paid $15,000 for the kit.

When the Kit arrived in 2015, the owner decided with Explicit Airbrush to have a complete tear down of the car. There are photos of the build in dropbox and a link to the dropbox can be emailed to all interested parties. .

Explicit Airbrush did the body work, paint work and everything that went back on the car. Some kits are bolted on. In this build, the parts were formed onto the car. None of the original rubber seals were used in the build; all new rubber seals were used in the build process.

· Car is now 4” wider in back, 2” wider in front, 2” longer overall.

The car has been always garaged and covered. In winter the garage is heated. The car has never been in snow. It has been caught in the rain only twice, when the weather shifted.

The wheels and tires are original.

The interior is as though in 100% new condition. Car has been detailed, including the extra step of removing the seats to completely detail the car.

The car has the removable hardtop and the LT2 package.

Published mileage is 17 miles per gallon in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

The 55 year old owner has enjoyed this “project” and recently decided to sell this car and start a new project, which has yet to be defined. He has taken extraordinary steps to create this car.

This car is located in Central Connecticut, 2 hours from Boston and from New York City. Local airports are Hartford’s Bradley International Airport which is within 40 minutes and Robertson Airport in Farmington, CT, which is within 15 minutes and serves private aircraft.
