Up for auction here is a very good running and driving 1955 Chevrolet Pickup. The truck was restored 20 years ago and still looks good to this day. It was built for cruising and it does so effortlessly. The powertrain is very reliable and is something different than the normal V8 swapped trucks that you see everyday. This one is equipped with a 292 inline 6 that has some very tasteful modifications. It was first bored out to a 301 and then fitted with a small cam to give it even more boost in power. An Hei distributor was installed to get away from the unreliable points. It also has a Clifford 4 barrel intake and Edelbrock carb along with Fenton split manifolds, and dual exhaust. It has plenty of power to cruise down the road, and sounds just like a V8 at idle. The exhaust has a very nice tone while not being too loud going down the road. The transmission is a 350 turbo that works flawlessly. The front suspension has been replaced with a Mustang II kit that has rack and pinion steering along with disc brakes. The rear has leaf packs and a 10 bolt posi with highway friendly gears. You can cruise down the interstate all day long and it doesn't skip a beat. The exterior of the truck is very solid, and the paint still looks good. There have been a couple chips here and there that have been touched up, it's not perfect but still very presentable. Everything opens and closes as it should. The box has a snap on cover to keep all your stuff dry when you run into rain. The interior is pretty basic and mostly original but very clean. It does have a newer GM tilt column and air conditioning though. There was also a cd player installed under the seat and shoulder seat belts. The dome light works when the doors open and there was also extra ones placed under the dash for more light at night. Everything works on the interior as it should including the gauges and the electric windshield wiper kit. The ac blows cold and the heat blows hot. All the glass and rubber is in excellent shape. The odometer reads 1800 miles but it has turned over once. It had almost 80,000 miles on it at the time of the restoration, so it has proven miles on it proving its a driver. We have been getting some questions regarding the year of the truck. This is in a fact a 1955 but it's the first series. In this year they had a first and second series with the later being the newer body style, thanks.
