Big changes were instore for the new 6th generation Corvette. Although it shared the basic chassis layout with the previous generation car, the body, interior and engine were new! Gone was the hideaway headlights that had become a mainstay since ’63. Replacements came in the form of exposed high-intensity discharge units. The exterior dimensions were all changed. The wheelbase ...was longer by 1.2?, but overall length decreased by 5.1? and width 1.1?. Because of the new, more efficient layout, interior dimensions remained mostly unchanged from the previous generation. Under the hood, was the 4th generation small block, designated the LS2. Displacement increased from 346ci to 364ci. And so was hp; up from 350hp to 400hp! New, never-before offered features and options such as keyless start and Navigation, and satellite radio were now offered. All of this and much more made the C6 the best performing Corvette yet!
