1976 C10 Factory short bed 2wd
This has been a great truck, it drives very nice and rides really nice. It is a well-built truck and the suspension mods, wheels and tires have less than 3500 miles on them, everything works and it a very solid truck I have had it less than 2.5 years and I am selling because I bought another Hot Rod.
Body: The story is this truck was originally from New Mexico. The paint is in great shape with no real dents nor signs of repair it has a few chips and scratches most around the bed rails and tail gate top, most of the paint is believed to be original, even the bed is impressive, it had a canopy on most of its life so that probably helped preserve it. The colors match the tag also. I do know that the hood has been replaced at some point because even the underside paint is very glossy, color matches well. The rockers and floors are rust free, there is a minor bubble I assume is rust in either cab corner (pictured). We put new side moldings on and a new rear bumper on it 2 years ago as well as a new NOS dash pad and rebuilt the gauge cluster. It could use new chrome window lock strips in the weather-strips on the front and rear glass, these are showing age but the gaskets are good. Doors shut easy and I have pics of the inside of the doors showing no rust. And NO speaker holes. Ha. I put an aftermarket repop am/fm radio in and new speakers, new carpet and seat belts also. It has LED taillights. It has power steering and brakes and manual windows.
Engine: it has a 355 which is a .030 bored over 350, 9.1 compression and Dart Iron Eagle heads with a small Comp 268h cam, Weiand intake Edelbrock carb and engine dress goodies, the starter probably needs a shim, it is not obnoxiously loud but could be quieter. I was told it has roller rockers but I did not verify. It has mid length headers and Flowmaster mufflers and custom exhaust. This engine has a mild choppy idle and does not get hot and leaves very few drips, estimate less than 10k miles on the rebuild.
Transmission: is a rebuilt T350 with a mild shift kit and stock converter, Trans shifts good and no slipping, minor fluid seepage appears from the pan. I have never needed to add fluid but it has left small spots on occasion. The trans Xmember was replaced with an aftermarket Scorpion Fab tubular unit to gain ground clearance and the exhaust passes over it.
Suspension: the front suspension was all rebuilt including ball joints and a-arm bushings, we put an oversize 1 ¼" sway bar on it and the brake rotors and loaded calipers were replaced. It has a double convoluted air bags on the front and rear, the front could go lower if the wheel wells were modified or removed, the tires rest on them when aired completely out. I did not want to cut the truck. The rear is an extensive metal works 2link to replace the leaf springs and dbl bags with a custom pan-hard bar installed and it has a C notch in the frame, the rear could go lower but with the limit to the front I do not lower the back more than the front. There are (2) Viair compressors and a 5 gal tank hidden and the switches are on the dash for the air ride.
All of the lights, the heater, wipers speedo and gauges all work good, it really needs very little. It gets allot of attention wherever I go and it's a blast to drive.
I am not an automotive expert but I promise to answer any question you may have to the best of my knowledge, I may be selling this truck locally at some point during the auction and reserve the right to end the auction early (unless the modest reserve HAS been met). Anyone that knows what it costs and the time it takes to find this quality of a C10 will know this truck is priced to sell so bid with what you are comfortable paying and if you meet the reserve and win the auction you will not be disappointed.
