1954 Chevrolet 3100 Description

Regular readers already know that a lot of handsome Advance Design pickups run through our showroom, but very, very few of them are as nice as this '54 Chevrolet 3100. With incredible red paint, a fresh small block V8, and a lot of tricks up its sleeve, this is the one you've been waiting to own.
We've said it many times before: if you're going to paint it bright red, you need to invest the extra time to make it worth looking at, because you're going to get A LOT of attention. Well, the guys who built this truck did exactly that, spending nights and weekends in the body shop sanding the sheetmetal. Then they sprayed several coats of the most brilliant red paint you've ever seen, and spent another few late nights wet sanding and buffing it to bring up a brilliant shine. So you know it's nice. The other thing it is, is slick. No graphics, no flames, no distractions from the clean shape that looks flat-out awesome. Most of the trim was restored, polished, or replaced (including the grille and bumpers), and the final result is so good that you don't really notice what's been altered without another truck parked right next to it. This one just looks right. The bed is neatly restored with a handsome wood bed with stainless slates, along with a cool built-in fuel filler that fits flush so it stays out of the way. There's just nothing on this truck that wasn't tweaked to a very high level before being bolted back on.
It's also comfortable, thanks to a nicely finished and elegantly simple interior. The original bench has been covered with white vinyl with black and white houndstooth inserts, and with matching door panels, it's easy to forget this is an ancient pickup truck. Black carpet ties it together in a rather handsome way, and the polished tilt steering column is fitted with a custom two-tone wheel that continues the '50s theme. Dolphin gauges were installed in the original pods, which gives them a very trick look and the long-handled shifter has an old-school vibe that works extremely well. There is a discreetly hidden digital AM/FM stereo radio under the dash, as well as a neatly installed A/C system that blows ice cold, making this truck a great choice for long hauls.
As you'd expect, this Chevy still carries Chevy power, a freshly installed 350 cubic inch V8 in this case. With just 24 test and tune miles on the rebuilt engine, it runs superbly and looks fantastic. It's very functional, with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, HEI distributor, Bowtie intake manifold, and a lot of polished parts to make it glitter. The rest of the engine bay is very nicely finished, too, offering painted inner fenders and firewall, providing a great backdrop for the bright bits on the engine. The front suspension is a Mustang II setup with power front disc brakes and power rack-and-pinion steering. A sturdy TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and a 10-bolt rear round out the powertrain, leaving you with no worries about reliability and transforming it into an easy high-speed cruiser. Finally, custom Cragar wheels put a modern spin on an old favorite and wear staggered 225/70/15 front and 255/70/15 rear blackwall radials.
So yes, we sell a lot of these. But not a lot of them measure up to the standard set by this one. So if you're looking for a great one, it's just arrived. Call now!
