1956 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Bel Air Beaumont Description
1956 Chevy 9- Passenger Wagon
Up for sale is a great old wagon with that killer look that everyone loves. This is no fake patina machine, this is old, worn out paint, full of character from years gone by. Think about the history this car has been through. Who sat in that driver's seat over the years?? Originally built in California, it then headed to southern Missouri, before making it's way to Iowa, it's current home. This wagon, that was originally yellow I believe, has stayed pretty solid over the years. A strong 350 with an overdrive trans now resides in the engine bay, ready for whatever adventure you can throw at it. On the roof is a great, vintage cargo carrier, complete with keys. I have had a lot of guys try buying the carrier off the car, but I think it completes the look perfectly! I have been told this is a Beaumont 9-passenger wagon by guys that know more than me, and that is would have some pretty good value as a restoration project as well. This thing is ready to enjoy as is, or bag it?? LS?? Turbochargers???? You decide!
The goods:
- Newer 350, runs great, no smoke, great oil pressure
- New Edelbrock intake and carb within 100 miles
- New ignition parts, fuel filter, pump
- 700R4 overdrive trans, shifts great
- 2" drop spindles with disc brakes within 100 miles
- 2" drop blocks in rear
- Aluminum radiator w/ electric fans
The bads:
- Glass is not great, side windows have cracks
- Front floors were replaced, they left some of the rusted metal underneath, repair is solid, but not fantastic, rest of floors and rear is pretty solid
- Interior is rough, blankets over bad seats. Needs carpet, headliner, door panels to be nice.
- Rides a little rough, bias ply tires don't help, but complete, "the look."
- Outer rockers need replaced, inners are okay, could simply do covers and paint to match or leave as is for "character"
- Not all third row parts are there
