2000 Chevrolet Corvette Commemorative Edition Description

This is a cool classic that's nearly 50 years in the making. The exterior looks like a first-year 1953 Chevrolet Corvette, but beneath the custom bodywork is a 2000 Corvette convertible. So you get all the iconic design lines, and it's now backed by a powerful LS1 V8, modern suspension, and all the modern amenities you could want.
Corvette people know this is the exact color combo you should have. After all, every first-year Corvette was Polo White with a red interior. But as you get closer, this retro machine has some added pearlescent glow to give it the extra flair a custom machine like this deserves. These Commemorative Edition customs were hand-crafted by Advanced Automotive Technologies (AAT) with new body panels to give the C5 convertible a whole new attitude. They really took the time to get the details right. The toothy chrome grille, screens over the headlights, sweeping side trim with jet tails on the fender, and extra long tailfins all instantly recall the first-ever Corvette. We especially love how they incorporated the original tailpipe design to now hold the reverse lights. A thoughtful process like this is also expensive to get looking so good. Not too many people were willing to pay the premium, and so this is number 76 of what is believed only 200 ever produced.
While it's retro on the outside, the inside is all about modern performance and comfort. The original Corvette barely had a folding roof, and this one has a watertight unit that tightly contorts into its storage area with ease. The leather bucket seats provide the perfect balance of sports car bolstering and all-day comfort padding. This is especially true since both are power adjustable, so you and your passenger can find the perfect luxury position. As you look across the dash, you're going to spot a few white elements in this aggressively red interior. This is just another way to pay tribute to the style of the first-year Corvette, and it's another reminder you are in a very special machine. A proper limited edition car like this also needs to come with all your favorite features. It includes dual zone climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual airbags, AM/FM/CD changer stereo, power windows, power locks, anti-theft system, and keyless entry. There's even the convenient windshield head up display (HUD). Most family-sized convertibles don't even offer a real trunk, but this custom build still retains the C5's good cargo characteristics. So feel free to take this cool retro machine on a weekend getaway for two.
While the first Corvettes almost died off because they were underpowered, you'll never have that problem in this creation. The C5 was a true leap ahead for sports cars when it received the LS1 motor. So it's great to have the correct fuel-injected V8 looking so good in this one. And while the upgraded engine cover gives it flair, you can also tell it has received the right investment in components right down to the Optima red top battery. A modern powerplant like this is ideal, because it fires up readily, sounds terrific, and idles easily. It's a versatile V8 that makes for easy driving in everyday situations. But the moment you want a performance machine, it growls to life to deliver a 345 horsepower dominant presence on the streets. And when you want to get aggressive, features like the Active Handling System and Selective Real Time Damping System (a rare and expensive option) optimize the driving experience. This convertible comes with a four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive, power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, cruise control, and a fully independent double-wishbone suspension. It's a total package that makes this collectable a fine companion for everything from the backroads to the morning commute.
Complete with owner's manual, this is a rare, distinct, and versatile modern classic. So when collectability and drivability meet so nicely, you know this will always have desirability. Don't miss out, call today!
