1968 Chrysler 300 Series Description
Fresh out of 40-year storage in a clean, dry garage!
This car was flat-bedded to my home where it was carefully re-awakened from a very long sleep. Fuel tank removed (clean and dry as a bone, sending unit + gauge work). Trans drained (including convertor, lines flushed) Oil changed. Leaking carb gaskets replaced. Starts up, drives, stops... All the things you want a car to do. In fact, go to that place where You watch videos on the Tube. Search these words:

Having said that, let's talk about the bad things. Everything is original and/or ancient... Belts, hoses, tires, Dairy Queen™ napkins in the glovebox, etc. Expect to replace those items. I've driven this car up to about 60 MPH, but I'm stupid. The tires feel like they are square. Tonight I noticed a small fuel leak at the pump. The right-rear wheel cylinder leaks. (Surprisingly, nothing else does.) Exhaust is original and solid until the muffler, then it goes downhill quickly... as in no tailpipe. The electric headlight doors do not function. Some <s> assh </s> jerk stole a bunch of small items while the car was in storage:
- Ashtrays
- Sunvisors/rear view mirror
- Wiper arms
- Engine fan (!?)
- Dome light lenses
- Rear marker lamps
- Front marker lamps & Chrysler + THREE HUNDRED emblems*
*I have these, included.
The driver's power window (nylon gear) is bad, I'm including a good one. The rear windows are slow, (fossilized grease) but they all go up/down with some help. While the paint looks great at a distance, it's chipped/scratched/faded. There is a scrape along the passenger side that doesn't show in these photos (mostly the rear door) and another scrape on the driver's side rear door (looks like something fell against it). It looks like somebody added a '67 hood ornament, then took it off. Either put it back or weld the holes shut. Or live with it. No spare tire/jack. Windshield has a vertical crack on passenger side.
Now that all that boring honesty is out of the way, let's talk good stuff... Rock solid, hiding nothing. Unlike a western car, this one isn't baked to a crisp. Perfect dashpad. Nice carpet. (This car was obviously somebody's baby) No rust in trunk, just disintegrated yellow foam rubber from the trunk mat. 440 is very healthy, this car feels like it weighs 2000lbs less than it does! Vinyl top is in great shape. Very nice chrome/die cast trim. Super cool vintage window stickers from Route 66 and Vegas. This car has loads of potential with a season's worth of work!
This is a perfect way for a European to get into an American classic for a small investment, needing very little by the way of parts. I'll even work with you to get them attached to the car before shipping if you use the Buy-It-Now button (covering Labor, not the parts), since I know shipping parts is a killer. I was going to restore this car, but I frankly have too many other big Mopar projects.
