2004 Chrysler Crossfire Coupe with 27,384 miles.
2004 Chrysler Crossfire Description
You are bidding on an exceptional 2004 Chrysler Crossfire coupe, finished in Sapphire Silver Blue Metallic. I am the third California owner of the car and it currently has 27,384 miles on the clock. Through CarFax, I was able to track the entire history of this Crossfire from the day it first sold new. It was originally purchased at a Chrysler dealer in Valencia, CA. The original owner kept it for the first 10 years. During that time, the owner relocated to the Laguna Beach area and traded the car in at Allen Cadillac, in 2014. The second owner kept the car for just a few months and traded it to a Nissan dealer in Long Beach for a new truck. I purchased the vehicle in December of 2014 from the Nissan dealer with approximately 26,000 miles on the odometer. This car has always been serviced at a Chrysler dealership and that complete history can be documented from any Chrysler dealer. It has been lovingly maintained by each of its owners.
2004 was the first year of production for the Crossfire; the only hybrid vehicle produced during the short marriage between Daimler Benz and Chrysler Corporation. As such, there was only one trim level offered that first year and it included all of the luxury appointments one would expect in a Mercedes Benz. This car is as they say, "loaded".
There is much misinformation and misunderstanding about the Crossfire and its origins. It is essentially a Mercedes Benz SLK-320, wearing a custom body designed by Eric Stoddard and Andrew Dyson that was supplied by the custom coachbuilder, Karmann. These cars were assembled in Osnabruck, Germany and shipped to the United states. The Body design is a near duplicate of a Chrysler concept car that was done for the show circuit in the early 2000's. This was the era when Chrysler took many of its concept vehicles directly to production almost verbatim. The Dodge Viper and the Plymouth Prowler are two further examples of Chrysler's bold efforts during this period. This particular Crossfire has the time proven and nearly bullet proof Mercedes M112-E32 V-6 engine, mated to the Mercedes built, 5 speed 5G-Tronic automatic transmission. This engine/transmission combination produces 215 horsepower and 229 pound force-feet of torque. It is quite a sprightly machine.
This particular example has a two-tone gray interior. The bucket seats have been covered since new with sheared moulton seat covers. I took them off temporarily when I first purchased the car and the original leather upholstery underneath is flawless, as is the rest of the interior. The car comes with a custom fitted cover from California Car Covers, Inc. (a $400.00 value) and a custom fitted bra. Also included are custom Chrysler floor and trunk mats.
Optional equipment includes ABS system, power windows, power seats, power mirrors, power steering, power brakes, cruise control, air conditioning and AM-FM stereo radio with integral CD player. And, a lot more stuff I don't know about as a result of not reading the owner's manual from cover to cover. It's quite extensive.
If you've ever wanted a Crossfire, you will be hard pressed to find a more perfect example. I am selling it reluctantly because I have literally moved to a mountain top and have no garage. The car is WAY too nice to keep in these conditions. Please contact me through e-Bay with any further questions. Additional photos available upon request.
