2001 Chrysler Prowler Stock 2214 The Prowler was Chrysler's retro-styled production car based on their 1993 concept car of the same name. It was manufactured and marketed by Chrysler from1997 until 2002. The Prowler's front-engine and rear-transaxle configuration facilitated an almost perfect 50-50 front-rear weight distribution. Originally conceived and designed as a coupe by car designer Chip Foose it was modified to be a roadster for production. Featuring predominately aluminum construction Prowlers were assembled by hand at Chrysler's CAAP Detroit facility. This unique performance car is powered by Chrysler's SOHC 3.5L 24-V fuel-injected small block. The aluminum V-6 produces 253bhp at 6400 RPM more than enough to propel this lightweight roadster. Its semi-automatic 4-speed 'Autostick' transaxle can be driven as an automatic or shifted manually. Our 2001 garage-kept Prowler has been meticulously maintained by one lady-owner. Totally original this Prowler was driven only for pleasure averaging less than 5000 miles-per-year. The optional 'Black Tie Edition' (black/purple metallic-over-silver) exterior with pinstriping is in outstanding condition as is the Dark Gray leather interior and the manually operated convertible top.
