1963 Vanden Plas Princess Description

A very sound 1963 Vanden Plas Princess formal limousine with sliding divider window, 6-cylinder engine, 3-spd manual trans, manual brakes, manual steering. Engine runs very well, 50 psi oil pressure, 180 degree coolant. True mileage is unknown. This was a former wedding car that was tired; I've had it for close to 10 years puttering around with it and making repairs and improvements, but moving now and need to unload projects. The car has been dry-stored all the time that I have had it.
Extras: This car has aftermarket front and rear R134 air conditioning installed, (blows semi-cool), needs to be recharged. Also the car has been converted to a 12V GM alternator, and has a radiator cooling fan.
Body: The body is sound, minor scratches, and one very small part broke off at the base of the door center pillar (visible in picture of left side). The frame was undercoated, mostly intact undercoating, surface rust in spots. Chrome bumpers are good, potmetal door strakes and various handles should be rechromed. Doors open/close ok. New rubber weatherstripping (included), needs to be installed everywhere. The glass is all good, wipers work, lights work except for a burned out headlight.
Mechanical: The car has new rear leaf springs, (old springs included), rebuilt water pump, tune up parts, oil and filter change, new battery. The previous owner had the clutch and brake wheels cylinders replaced. The brake master cylinder leaks, but I have a NEW master cylinder (included).A Princess limousine repair manual is included.
Interior: New upholstery (Bone color) done professionally a few years ago (never used), and matching door panels and pull-up jumpseats. I have a new chocolate color carpet to be installed. The burl wood interior trim is all in nice shape. Steering wheel has cracks. Headliner; unfortunately a moth got into the mohair headliner in the passenger compartment and ate some holes. It will need to be replaced.
What it needs: Brake master cylinder installed and bled. Minor electrical wiring to finish. The gas tank should be dropped, cleaned and coated. Carpet needs to be installed. Headliner in passenger compartment. Minor trim parts reinstalled. A few exterior potmetal trim parts should be rechromed. The tires should be replaced; tread is good, sidewalls showing age and cracking. Directional signal switch needs a new stalk and the housing put back on. To the extent that you wish, it has various old car fluid drips.
There it is, no BS. Great potential for wedding use. Not a fake Rolls Royce, but a true Princess. It's a good car that needs to be finished. Contact me with questions.
