1979 Datsun Z-Series Description

1979 Datsun 280ZX. Body is in great shape for it's age. The valence has some rust, There are some rotted spots in the cowl but doesn't leak into car interior and somerot under the right tail light. I think you can see it all in the pictures if you want more please message me or call me.
Engine starts right up and runs strong. Idles fine. I did a basic tune up and have a spare cap and rotor for it.
Transmission sticks sometimes going into third gear. Have to get it up to around 45 mph and let off the gas to get it to shift.I think this is from it sitting for 2+ years. No slippage on shifting at all. A fluid flush will probably clear it right up,
Interior is a bit rough. Carpets need replacing. Passenger seat is good, driver's seat need new cushions and cover. I have seat covers over themand I'm not uncomfortable. There are some dash parts not installed but I have all the parts. You will need the screws to hold them in.
Electrical system has some problems. I think mostly corrosion from siting. Head lights aren't working. Head lights are now working.Turned out to be bad fuses. Starter will not work with the key switch. I have it bypassed and a button to start it. Starts fine with the button. Oil pressure gauge workssome times. Great oil pressure when it does. Other gauges and lights are fine. Radio isn't working.
Car needs little work to be a fun daily driver or is a good start for full restoration. Hard to find one with a body this clean.
It has 10th Anniversary Edition emblems on the front fenders but I have been told (Repeatedly and sometimes rudely) that it is not a 10th Anniversary EditionHow or why the stickers are there is anyone's guess,
I'd love to keep it and fix it but a new toy has caught my eye so this one has to go.
