1971 Datsun Z-Series Description

Here we have my lovely 240Z which I must part with as I have lower back problems. I have restored the car over the years and made some improvements which I have listed below. Bodywork repaired with new front and rear valances, pan welded with custom made panels, no rust in usual places, new door and tailgate seals, new custom made carpet and door cards, built in speakers and CD player, all flimsy plastic trim panels removed repaired and strengthened with fiberglass, inertia seat belts fitted, fiberglass bumpers, re-painted in as close as possible match to original Datsun Silver.

Battery, starter motor, water pump, thermostat, hoses, drive belt and aluminum castings replaced; electric fan conversion, electric fuel pump, unleaded fuel converter fitted, fuel tank removed and cleaned checked for corrosion, Weber carb conversion. Strong motor no smoke, and smooth transmission.

Period English Minilite magnesium alloy wheels and lug nuts with new tires, complete polyurethane suspension and steering bush kit fitted, steering rack overhauled and new joints fitted, brakes rebuilt

Bad points that I have not got around to:-

Small oil leak from transmission oil pan, radiator coolant drip from transmission cooler soldered joint, needs a new spindle ( I have this part) on rear suspension as I could not separate this to fit the poly bushes when I did the rest, usual top of dashboard cracks, non-original seats with a few marks.
