1972 Datsun Z-Series Description
Selling my 1972 240Z. I purchased the car from a seller, site unseen, in Hemming's Motor News earlier this year with the intention of restoring it largely myself. It is, however, beyond my ability. The person I bought it from did not represent the structural work required to restore the car including the fact the engine is seized. The car appears complete down to original hubcaps, A/C, and factory radio. It is believed to be #918 Orange:http://www.zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/918_Orange_new1.jpg
I've taken a number of pictures which should help assess the work required to restore this including structural repair to the sub-frame/unibody. Most of this structural corrosion appears to be on the passenger side per the accompanying pictures.
The car will roll but only has functional parking brakes. It will obviously require trailering. I put new cheap tires on it simply because the ones that came on it were completely dry rotted and leaking. I have no idea if the stated mileage is correct but given the last time the car was tagged, nearly 25 years ago, it's conceivable the mileage is as shown.
I've also placed many of the same pictures at perhaps a higher resolution here on Onedrive:https://1drv.ms/f/s!AvTy52Yff8VRtLsrbj7XnQXx0_hB4g
This Z is worth restoring given the rise in the prices of these. Many of the panels including hatch, quarters, fenders and doors are available. I'm not expecting to recoup what I paid for this car and stated differently expect to sell it at a loss. Regardless, it has to go.
Holler if you have questions. Located 25 miles east of Washington DC just off of the Capital Beltway and Route 50.

The ones on the car have a Z center emblem and I was told they were original but perhaps they are not. Please take this input and update as a point of clarification and thanks to the fellow Ebayer for bringing this to my attention.
