1957 Dodge Power Wagon D-300 Description

IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND CLASSIC.......This truck is a Beast..... I've owned this truck for a while now and until last year I was gradually improving and driving truck but health issues and relocation requires sale...this truck is clean clean
1957 was the first year of the Cab Forward design which continued into the early 1960s.....this truck featuring wrap-around glass front and rear
BODY....the cab is the optional and rare big back window model in good original driver condition with no dents or dings ......Long Bed ....Rear fenders have been widened 6 inches and look great (small fiberglass crack in one fender when moving /easy repair) ....inner cab has been rust-proofed and dyna-mat installed....paint is driver quality but shines and fenders will require painting..Dodge Color - SASSYGRASS-GREEN...seat has been removed and painted but will require upholstery
CHASSIS....the chassis was blasted and painted and is an excellent rust free frame and both front/rear extremeheavy-duty towing hitches were professionally installed....24 gallon fuel tank was fabricated and installed under bed including a heavy duty crossmember with access holes to accept a fifth wheel set-up and the bed has 1 1/2" solid steel tubing added for reinforcement... this extreme heavy duty one-ton chassis is spectacular
ENGINE-TRANSMISSION...rebuilt 1973 CHRYLER 360 with a 727 automatic transmission with external transmission cooler.....truck ran strong but is currently non-running...I was going to install a new alternator and replace the two barrel carb with a small four barrel but injury and two surgeries ended my car hobby.....also, although operable i was also going to replace the throttle linkage and shifter as they both are older and need replacement
SUSPENSION...Complete rebuilt Suspension...truck was lifted 3"in the front with a custom adjustable panhard control arm with 3/4" rod ends, steering stabilizer, front adjustable air shocks, custom power steering...the rear has 4.10 gears with new mega springs and a 1"lift, new bearings and seals and a custom stainless dual exhaust....tilt GM steering column and power steering make truck an easy driver
added to this truck over the years to improve drivability
... complete new wringing harness with Dolphin Guages ...... new master cylinder, brake cylinders, brake lines, and brake shoes... aluminum radiator with electric fan and overflow tank... shocks, bushings, GM steering column... touch screen tilt-up stereo with detachable face-plate,600 watt power amplifier and speakers
TIRES/WHEELS...aftermarket 17.5 artillery style painted wheels look great and truck has all new, low mileage Sumitomo, ST 717s...9R-17.5-HC (front), and SL 717s...8R-17.5-LT(rear)...steel belted radials...these are extra heavy duty tires
I also have new components to add air-conditioning and all are included in sale (drier, evaporator, condenser, chromed compressor, pressure hoses with all new fittings)as well as a new alternator and many additional spare parts
As you can figure out I have a lot of time and tremendous amount of money into this truck. It would cost over 30k to re-create this beast ...(wiring/guages, wheels/tires, fender fabrication and stereo system alone cost over $8,500) ....there is very little left to complete...I have receipts and records available
unfortunately health issues force sale and someone is going to get a GREAT dealwith just a few items remaining to get this truck on the road again...truck needs install of battery, shifter, and alternator....install door glass and driver door latch, upholster and install seat, drain gas tank, replace fluids, tune -up and hit the road......not difficult work for any car guy
This truck is a great rare classic worth far more than I'm asking....its not perfect but it was built to be reliable and last for decades.....truck will tow anything
I have added many recent photos which accurately reflect trucks condition but truck is sold without warranties of any kind.....truck is very clean and located in San Antonio TX ... zip 78251
