1966 Dodge Polara Big Block 383 Very Clean Daily driven
1966 Dodge Polara Description
1966 Dodge Polara Hardtop 2 door CoupeRuns drives and stops great, Driven 32 miles daily with 2 children in the back. Stays at 185 degrees all the time.Paint and bodywork are very respectable. Panel alignment is good and doors shut properly. Has a ton of curb appeal. I'd give it an 8 out of 10Interior is very nice. Seat covers, door panels, and headliner all look great and carpet is new. Tilt and telescoping column. I'd give the interior an 8.5 out of 10Trim and brightwork are very complete but would be the area to work on next. Dings and pits in the hood trim, chromed aluminum pieces like the taillight bezels, interior door handles, and cranks have some pitting. The rear bumper isn't perfect. Nit picky stuff considering the drivetrain, paint, body, interior, wheels, tires, etc... are all done. suspension, steering, brakes all function properly. Steering alignment is perfect. Wheel is straight, no pulls and no tire wear, no exhaust leaks, no significant fluid leaks. Maybe a drip here and there occasionally. trans kicks down properly and shifts firmlyEngine is a 68 .030 over 383 with the 66 heads. Cam is stock or very mild. Only mods are the carb, electronic ignition, and exhaust Flowmaster type mufflers727 with a mild shift kit. firm shifts but not barking the tires. Rear is a 742 carrier 8 3/4, stock gears. Goes down the highway at 80 or so.

Has a few quirks.Blower motor switch and Temperature switch function properly but the vacuum switches for the heat are inoperable. It's set to Defrost to keep the windshield clear, but will heat the cabin very well and will cook you out if you crank it.Radio will crackle if you turn it on or mess with the fader knob, but doesn't play musicWindows need adjustment. I haven't dug into it yet, but the front and rear windows don't align perfectly unless you fiddle with how far you have them rolled up.The only rust I've found is an area in the passengers floor pan from a previously leaking heater core, ...hence the new carpet.
Please ask questions. My seller rating is indicative of my honesty. I just want to make a fair sale.
Interior pics were taken before the floor shifter was added. I'll try and add a shot of that and a couple of the trunk, which is perfect.
I really have enjoyed the car, but have my eye on a 63 Savoy that I've dreamt of for years. Thanks, Todd
