I'm selling this great old pickup truck for my father-in-law. He bought the truck in the '70's to be used on his property, (formerly Alfred Hitchcock's property), in Scotts Valley, CA. We're pretty sure that it has 98,200 original miles**. The truck runs like new, It starts instantly and idles smooth and quiet, not a hint of smoke. The brakes feel strong. The "Fluid-Drive" transmission works great and allows you to not use the clutch when coming to a stop, it's only needed for changing gears! The alternator is making some noise so will probably need a rebuild, I'm going to try and have this done but no promises. This truck could easily be used as both a handy pickup and also a fun classic that's going up in value. It was restored in the early '90's which included a conversion to 12 volts, the addition of a glove box mounted Alpine tape deck/radio, and a vinyl tonneau cover over the bed. It has California black plates with appropriate 1954 steel add-on tags. It even has an original 1950's license plate frame from a local Dodge dealership. Original owner's manual and sales brochure are in the glove box. The paint unfortunately is suffering from '80's primer problems or something similar. There are small bubbles all over the car, though they haven't gotten any worse in the five years I've stored it for him. The two tone colors were matched to original. The interior looks great and the vinyl seat is in perfect condition. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
