Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of eacah auction.
Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a fairly rare 1990 Dodge RamCharger 4x4. I would rate the exterior of this RamCharger to be in POOR CONDITION for its age and mileage. Ideally, this would make a cool winter beater truck or possibly be a candidate for restoration. As it sits now, it's finished in spray can army green. It's an obvious spray can job and surely won't win you any car shows...but it does look kinda cool. The body looks pretty straight to me. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. The rear hatch struts are shot. It looks like this truck was originally blue, with maybe a new front clip as it is not blue in the engine bay. There is rust on the body around the fenders and along the rockers but honestly isn't as bad as I expected. I'm sure there is body filler in it from previous rust repairs. I took a knee to look under it. The frame has some surface rust but I didn't see anything serious. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with good tread all around. I found the full set of center caps in the back as well as the original RamCharger side badges hiding in the center console. All of the glass and lenses are intact...which just some minor chipping along the edges of the left tail light. Please take your time and look at each of the photos carefully so you know you're not getting a show truck or anything close to it.
I would rate the interior of this RamCharger to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. Being the LE model, this Dodge is fairly well equipped. Aside from a few loose and broken bits (window switches, turn signal stalk, etc.), the interior actually isn't hateful. Neither of the power windows work...but the power locks and mirrors do work. The carpets show their age but aren't terrible. The seats are actually in decent condition and are quite comfortable. As a complete surprise to me, the air conditioner actually still works!!! The radio has been upgraded, and is working properly. As mentioned earlier, the turn signal stalk end is broken off. The windshield washers work and the right turn signal works, but I couldn't get the left to come on. Again, please...please check out each of the phots carefully so you know what you're getting.
Mechanically, this RamCharger is in better condition than I expected it to be. The 5.2L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. Every once in a while, it lets out a little puff of smoke (in true 80's Dodge fashion) but it doesn't do it all the time...or even often. I didn't notice any leaks. The suspension doesn't feel too bad. The steering is a little funny (I'd definitely go have an alignment done if you plan to put this truck on the road regularly) but it is able to be driven. The brakes stop the truck adequately. The engine keeps good temperature, good oil pressure and feels strong. She makes good power and doesn't get around too badly for an old girl. Against my internal survival instincts, I took this old truck out on the highway and got her up to 65...and I didn't die. Like I said, the steering is a little off (feels like it's toe'd in too much so it's kinda twitchy) but it's not too hard to manage. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts just fine through all the gears with no issues. The 4WD system is tested and working properly. Neither the odometer nor the tripometer are working. It is stuck at 132k miles. I know it has been not working since at least January because the mileage on the inspection stickers matches the odometer. Beyond that, I can't say. That is why the mileage is listed as 999,999...eBay doesn't allow odometer status to be entered, just the odometer reading regardless of whether or not it is accurate. This truck has a current PA inspection good through the end of January, 2017 so it looks like it has been consistantly used...not sitting in a field falling apart. Like I said, this would make a good winter truck or something to strip down and restore...but it is what it is. I don't want someone coming and picking the truck apart. If you want a pretty / nice RamCharger, there are plenty in the $10,000+ range that need nothing. Please keep your expectations low (like so low you could trip over them) and you'll be happy as a clam with this truck. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
