As spectacular in appearance as the Viper RT/10 roadster was, the Viper GTS coupe introduced in 1996 was even more so. With a roofline obviously inspired by the classic Cobra Daytona coupes and an aggressive ducktail rear spoiler, the new GTS Coupe was simply stunning. In addition to a new roofline, the GTS included such exciting features as roll-up side windows and exterior door handles. The exhaust was rerouted out back to produce a much better tone and the output of the updated 8.0-liter V-10 was significantly boosted to 450bhp at the rear wheels. This red 1997 Viper GTS is essentially original with only some mechanical enhancements and the current owner has carefully maintained it for the last 11 years. The factory Viper Red finish is in excellent condition, as is the black leather interior. The 488ci V-10 will take this coupe from 0-60 in less than 5.0 seconds and yet can still be very docile on the street. Some upgrades to the engine package include: polished intake tubes, Barrenger headers with Borla exhaust, Ron Davis aluminum radiator, silicone hoses and MSD wires. Following these modifications, the engine was dialed-in with an SCT Tuner Software package. The V-10 is backed by the factory 6-speed manual transmission with a B&M shifter. Road performance and handling have been enhanced with new rear inner/outer tie rods and stainless steel brake lines. A recent 4-wheel alignment and new set of Michelin radials - 265/40 front & 315/35 rear - mounted on 17" SSR alloys complete the suspension upgrades. (The owner has the original wheel package.) This GTS is a beast, but it comes with all of the creature comforts you will ever need: power tinted windows, power locks, keyless entry, cruise, AM/FM/CD and A/C. ALL VEHICLES SOLD AS-IS.
