1993 Dodge Shadow Description

Having purchased a few cars on Ebay, some good, so not so good I will attempt to give as accurate description as possible of the real condition of the vehicle, not somesugar coated version. If I have missed anything or if you have any questions please just ask.
Up for bid is a 1993 Dodge Shadow Convertible of which I am thesecond owner having purchased it from the original owner. First sold in Huntington Beach California, it has spent it's whole life locally. The original owner did a terrific job of taking care of the car. She actuallydecided to treatherself to a new car and thus sold this to me. Now it is time for someone else to enjoy it.
Mechanics:
So many items had been repaired or replaced on the car prior to me purchasing it as well as by myself that I would drive this car anywhere. Here is a list of things that have been done:
- New brakes- New Air Conditioning compressor with updated R12 freon- New catalytic converter- New muffler- Newradiator- New front end and tie rod bushings- New battery- New rear shocks- New main seal- New water pump- All maintenance items current
Car drives true and straight. Breaks well without any pulling and cruiseswonderfully at 70 MPH.Powerwindows work well. Go down no issues. The drivers window gets a little slow as it gets to about halfway up but picks up speed again on its way to the top.All light andindicators work as they should.Wipers and windshield washers work great.Tires have about 25 - 30% tread left
Items that willneed to be done:
- Front shocks. Justhaven't gotten round to it. Current ones are ok. Just can tell the improvement when I replaced the rear.- Air conditioner needs recharging. I think it may have a small leaksomewhere in a hose. I know it is not the compressor as it has only been 3,000 miles since replacement- Has an occasionalsqueak in the rear. Had it checked out and it is somesort of simple bushing. Just haven't got around to taking care of it. My mechanic said it is nothing that effects safety or performance and with occasional lubrication andregular driving goes away.
Cosmetics:
The interior isamazing as you can see by the pictures. Atiny bit of wear on the drivers seat edge and a small wear spot on the carpet where yourleft foot rests. No cracks, tears, stains of any kind. The drivers seat could use some new foam on the outside seat bolster but not a necessity. There arehand painted hash marks on the gear shifter center console as the previous elderly owner was havingtough time telling gears and did it to help herself. I haven't removed them as Ithought it was kind of sweet.
Radio works great. I have never tried the cassette player as I don't have any cassettes thought the original owner said it worked the way it is suppose to the very few times she ever used it. Seatbelts are clean, not trashed and work properly. Center console and glove box operate as they should and lock as they should.
The original convertible top ismanual and goes up and down just fine. Can be done by one person. When folding the top down you just have to make certain that the top material is folding properly so it doesn't interfere with the frame. The top will need to be replaced at some point. It is the original top and as such the back window has become hazy as well as a couple of wear tears at the outside back corners from repeated use over the years. They do not show in the pictures as I use a bit of white tape over them to protect the inside of the car. I onlydrive the car on good weather days so the top is always down and has not been an issue for me.
The original paint still shines beautifully as the pictures show thought it does have some chips and a bit of road rash on the front nose (see pic) as one would expect from a 23 year old car. Paint on the front and rear pumper is a bit faded. Original hubcaps are in great shape, no curb scratches or damage.
The trunk isreally clean with all of the original carpet and working light. The one place that has abit ofsurface rust is the lower trim piece at the base of the convertible top. See pic. Can easily beunscrewed sanded and painted. No rust anywhere else on the car. No accidents.
No reserve. Payment is due within 5 days from the close of auction. Will release the car once payment is received and cleared. If shippingthe car out of state I am happy to help with seeingthe car loaded by the wining bidder's chosen transportation. I cannot store the car for any great length of time so please beprepared to finish the transaction and takepossession of it. It is a well maintained used car but as such I do not make any warranties. Please only bid if you areserious and Good Luck!
