For saleisa well cared for 1991 Dodge Power Ram 150 short-box 4x4. More times than not these trucks have been thrashed on and abused with nothing left but past memories. That is not the case with this truck. This 1991 Power Ram 150 is a well preserved example of Dodge’s years past, perfect to cruise to coffee on Saturday morning before venturing out for a leisurely drive in the back country.
Through my limited research I have found that this truck has spent most if not all of its life in sunny California, the early years in the northern California area and its later years on the central coast.Fortunately for 4x4 trucks here in California their use is very light duty – mostly commuting with an occasional dirt road mixed in for that Saturday BBQ or weekend camp trip.Typically no serious ranch, mountain or off-road duty, so no bumps bruises or signs ofrust. The truck has lived a life of leisure here in sunny California!
The body and paint on this truck are very nice.Way above average for 25 years old.Paint is new (driver quality)and body straight with a few very minor dings (total of 5 VERY minor dings). All body panels line up nicely with even straight gaps. Doors, hood and tailgate open and close great! When driving down the road you are not overcome by rattles and squeaks typical of most older trucks! There is light wind noise from the driver’s wing window (easily corrected with a very minor adjustment).Inside of the box is straight and has not been used to haul lumber, firewood or boulders but did have a rollbar. As a result there are several bolt holes from that installation. The truck is a real attention getter perfect for daily service, weekend duty and the occasional outing to cruise night!
The truck was not ordered with many bells and whistles but, with the exception of the A/C needing a charge and the lighter not functioning, everything works.Lights, blinkers, gauges, warning lets and on and on, all work!Aftermarket electronics include a Sun tachometer and a nice AM/FM/CD player.
As for the interior, it is solid and clean for a truck of this age!The pictures speak for themselves! There is light wear on the seat and the carpet.Even after 25 years of service the interior shows the truck has been cared for.The door panels are solid and clean with one small crack in the driver’s door panel (see photo) – Other than that the panels are in great condition!Headliner is new and nice and dash is clean with no cracks.Gauge lenses are clear and unscratched and interior trim is all there and clean! In addition, the truck is equipped with a tastefully installed aftermarket sunroof – A quality installation and nice addition! The cleanliness of an interior is a tell-tale sign of how a vehicle has been cared for! After 25 years of service the tan interior on this truck remains intact, unmolested and CLEAN!That is hard to find
Mechanically, this Power Ramis solid! No leaks slobbers, drips. The 360-2V has good oil pressure, runs cool and pulls strong.Truck shifts nicely, stops nicely (brakes may be a little soft) and drives good or as good as a 1991 ½ ton Dodge with a lift kit and large tires can drive. As you would expect the truck is a little rough riding and the wide tires do have a tendency to want to grab the ruts in the road.Nothing that should come as a surprise but worth mentioning! Shifting in and out of 4x4 is no problem and there are no annoying or alarming rattles, grinds or vibrations.
With the exception of the lift the truck is 100% original mechanically, has a nice single exhaust that dumps by the rear axle (nice throaty turbo muffler) and is California smog legal (have current smog certificate good to the beginning of next month). It is ready to go and would easily make a long cross country trip (if you were so inclined and enjoy bumpy journeys)!
If you are in the market for a solid older 4x4 that is ready to go, clean and honest this Dodge is one to be considered!I have watched trucks in similar condition sell in the $8,000 to $10,000 dollar range. My reserve is significantly less than that!
