For sale in our Detroit Showroom is this rarely seen 1979 Dodge Magnum. The mid- sized B body Dodge Magnum was only built for 2 model years as an addition to Chrysler's line up that allowed Richard Petty to continue racing with a Mopar. The 1974 Charger that was previously used was no longer eligible for competition and while not as aerodynamic as the '74 Charger body the shape of the Magnum showed promise and the Petty race team built test cars that reached 190 mph on the track. This particular 1979 Dodge Magnum is a very good condition 3 owner car that has had plenty of restoration performed to assure that it remains a turn-key cruiser for many years to come. This Magnum is originally from South Carolina and remained there until 2012, it only has just over 86,000 actual miles much in part to the second owner only adding around 13,000 of those miles in a 24 year time span. During the time that the second owner had the car many parts were replaced including the water pump, timing chain, U-joints, Chrysler electronic ignition was added, new brakes front and rear, and a new intake and carburetor and new exhaust. Recent restoration includes changing the AC unit to R-134 refridgerant, new headlight motors, rebuilt the windshield wiper mechanics, new tires, and the cruise control was replaced. The exterior of this Magnum is really stunning the metallic silver and gloss black that look amazing paired together with the red pin-striping to show off the body lines and hardly shows even a scratch having a re - paint several years back. The interior of the car is all original and in extremely good condition having gray leather seats that match the exterior of the car quite well and the only modification inside being an upgraded modern stereo with CD player. Options on this Magnum include: air conditioning, AM/FM radio with CD player, cruise control, leather interior, tilt wheel, power steering, power brakes, and radial tires with raised white letters. If you are in the market for a fairly priced Mopar that is also a turn-key cruiser then this Magnum should be at the top of your list.
