1970 Dodge Challenger T/A Description

my last bidder was unable to secure the funds, so a lucky dodge boy get another chance to purchase it

dodg, trans am challenger T/A,

this car has been garage kep, almost it's entire lif,

originally this was used as a quarter mile race car,

I have been restoring it a little at a time, over the years,

the body had a small dogleg repair about 20 years ago with new meta, not putty.

and the front left fender had a den, that was repaired.

the rest was all goo, the underneath is as good as the top of the car.

I had it painted about 10 years ag, I

the paint is o, but not perfec, has flaws,

the engine a original T/A 340 has the ta casting on the side of the motor, it is in the picture.

the carbs are origina, but bowls have been replaced.

the motor doesn't have a mile on it since the last rebuild, but it was built for quarter mile racin, higher compressio,

I have the original bell housin, but the one on the car, is a Lakewood shatterproo, for racin, the engine is powerful you don't want to loose a leg.

flywheel, clutc, pressure plate , all new,

transmission like new, buthas ahemi 18 splin, upgrade, the origina, long gone.

the exhaus, gas tan, have been replaced,

bumpers are original and have a dent .

interio, dashboard has a big crac, but the id plate is attached to it so I never changed it .

new carpetin, new front seat covers from legendary .

brakes and suspension origina, and in good shape.

build sheet found in the right pass sea, is in the pics

the back windows still have the original scat pack decals .

there are some trim pieces, around the rear windo, there not installed but I have them.

front valance lense, they are not installe, but I have replacements from year one in the trunk, with other miscellaneous parts.

tires are used Goodyear polyglass E60 15 in the front and G 60 15 in the rear from the 70's, that is what T/A 's came with stock,

and the rear had a lift for the exhaust to come out the sides. the antenna was moved to the rear of the car, all factoryONLY for the T/A'S AND AAR CUDA'S.

the blocks were cast with a stronger metal and marked with a T/A ON THE SIDES,special cast headsthe rocker arms were offset to allow for porting, but I don't think this engine was ported, and the factory didn't port them.

there were only around 5000 of those engines mad, and 2399 T/A's,989 manual 4 speed made with the pistol grip shifter.

the engine compartmen, that is just about what they looked like from dodge.

factory cast headers, correct wire hangers and placemen, battery cables, hoses Chrysler marke, corbin clamps .

and the engine it painted correctl, the blocks came red, and the valve covers and air cleaner were hemi orange.

it has the correct 1970 pvc valve . and a replica dodge battery .

electronic installed but I have the original duel point ignition,

there is a number of the block OB297657 matches the title and dash i, theO kind of looks like a C

just a not, I don't run this car and I tried to keep as many original parts as I could. so they are ol, and problems pop up sometimes.

above the drivers sun visor there are 3 holes about the size of a nicke, you can't see them unless you move the visor down.

also the gauges should work but I haven't tested them for a while. the oil pressure was changed from electrica, to mechanical.

electrically some wires may need hooked u, may need some light bulbs, and some small trim piecesmay need sttached.

this comes with 2 rear end gear sets, 4.5, was used for the quarter mile, and the 3.55 factory original se,

the hood is original and has never been repainted

it will probably run, but I can't guarantee it.I need to get a new batter, it was kinda the reason I decided to sell it .
the battery is only about 4 years old and I kept a little battery maintaine, on it.
I had started the car about 5 times,
-------------
I ran it a couple times idling, just breaking it in,for a half hour or so .
after about 4 time, the collector replacement coi, with the mopar marking, went bad.
I got a hi performance coil, and replaced the duel point distributor, with electronic,
but I kept the original duel poin,
had it running o, but never timed it .
------
the carbs dry out and the needles stic, then one of the carbs would flood.
so now I bypassed the outside carb, and just run off the center.----------
the gas I have additives in i, because I am breaking in the engin,

the car sits for a year at a tim, and the carbs dry ou, and I do not drive this car.the last time was in 89.

it all makes it tricky to start.
