Questions about these eBay deals? EMAIL ME any time, or call / come see me during my office hours, and I'll get you all the answers you need. All my contact info is at the bottom of this auction, in the "contact us" section.
We are an RV dealer in the mountains of Western Maryland. You are looking at a non-RV that we took on trade towards an RV. It is a privately-owned unit that was traded in to our dealership - it is NOT something we bought at an auction, it is NOT a repo, it is NOT a salvage piece. We avoid items like those, for the same reason you do - you just don't know what you're getting. But if a customer wants to trade an item like this in, towards an RV purchase...well...equity is equity, and if we think we can sell it, we'll take it on trade!
This is a nice Ram. I'm a "Dodge guy", so I know these trucks very well. This Laramie is definitely top-of-the-line - it's got all the toys! Nice thing is, '06 was the first year for the MDS in trucks - Multi Displacement System, or cylinder deactivation. It "turns off" cylinders when you aren't in the throttle, so you save fuel when you don't need all that power. Tip into the throttle? It turns 'em back on invisibly, giving you all the power you need. Net result? Actual "good" fuel economy, out of a 4x4 V8 pickup truck!
Just like any Laramie - this one's loaded inside. Heated leather seats. Dual zone climate control. AM/FM/CD stereo with RDS, and a 4 disc changer. Power adjustable driver pedals. Power windows, locks, towing mirrors (power adjust with a manual flip-out for towing), tilt wheel, cruise control, power drivers seat, steering wheel audio controls, steering wheel cruise controls, tow/haul button, electronic transfer case (2wd/4x4hi/4x4lo/neutral for flat towing)...it's a nice cozy place to sit and drive! There's even an overhead console with trip computer, 3 HomeLink buttons (garage door openers), compass, thermometer, and map lights. It does not smell like smoke or have any musty odors, and I didn't see any rips or stains - it's a nice clean truck! And no, the passenger front window is not damaged - it was early morning when I took the photos, that's just morning dew.
The outside is also nice - again, I'm a Dodge guy so the first thing I look for is body rust. None. Nice solid body here. There's some light scratching in the paint here and there but nothing that went to primer. Most will buff out; couple spots may want some touchup paint, but the Inferno Red is a popular color and touchup is easy to get. The bed looks good with a drop-in bedliner and I didn't see any dents. The wheels look good, but all show some signs of rash around the very lip - but the chrome is in very good shape and so are the tires. I said I look for rust, and I do. I looked underneath, and (being from PA) this one has some surface rust underneath. Nothing soft, nothing scaly, nothing coming apart. Just...discolored and rough. What I do on my personal, 240,000 mile, rust-free '01? Spray undercoat it, every spring when the road salt is finally gone, and every fall before they start treating the roads for winter. A case of undercoat each year is a WHOLE lot cheaper than rust repair! And even if you're not the "crawl around under a truck" type...I'm sure you could have your oil change guy do it for you once or twice a year. It keeps the rust at bay, and keeps your truck looking good for years! Another trick I've learned is, pull out the taillights (2 screws on each side), and hose off the top of the wheel arch inside the fender. I do that every spring to get all the salt and dirt out of there, so nothing makes the fender lips start to rust either. But that's not looking like an issue on this truck - I didn't see any bubbles or discoloration at all on the body. Mechanically? It sounds great! Runs very nicely. Shifts properly. It has 4 wheel brakes and good tires. The Flowmaster exhaust sounds nice and throaty. The engine doesn't smoke or tap or drip. And as well as they're building these trucks these days...the mileage doesn't scare me one bit. And, it doesn't scare NADA one bit either - plug "118,000" into the mileage box for an '06 Ram, and it gives the value a BOOST. The Hemi's a good strong motor and it's obvious this truck has been well cared for. Keep taking care of it...you'll get another 118k out of it, no question about it. The only thing I didn't find a button for...is the air horns. There's a tri-tone setup behind the drivers headlight, but when I pressed the horn in the steering wheel...it honked the factory horn. Not sure on that one...but if you figure out how to hook 'em up or turn 'em on, you'll probably sound like a freight train when you honk! Either that, or being a tri-tone...it might play a song. I don't know. It can be an experiment for the new owner! Worst I found on the outside of this one? The hood struts need to be replaced, you have to hold the hood up. $40 at AutoZone and you'll have a self-holding hood again though. If you're looking for a vehicle that can be used as a truck when you need to...but doesn't act too much like a truck when you just need to get from here to there...this could be perfect. It's nice and comfortable, and definitely well-appointed with tons of luxury options. But when you need it...it's still a pickup truck, and you can still pile a ton of stuff back in the bed...or tow a trailer behind it. Bad weather? Twist a knob and you're in 4 wheel drive. With 20s and no knobbys, it's no mud bogger...but it won't ride like one either, and you can always swap wheels and tires for winter if you need more traction. But as it sits? It's a nice, clean, solid, well-optioned, good-condition truck - and we've got it priced quite a bit below book value, just because we're an RV dealer...not a car dealer. And if you've been looking at RV's but don't have anything in the garage that you can use to tow with...come see us. We'll sell you a "kit"! You can get a nice Hemi half-ton truck, AND that RV you've always wanted!
Why do we sell on eBay? Exposure, plain and simple. We want as many people as possible to see our items, so we can sell more of them. Why should I buy here on eBay? CONVENIENCE. You don't have to be here in person to make the unit yours! You click the button; you make the deposit; and the unit is YOURS. I lock it up and mark it sold, and nobody messes with it. We sort all the paperwork electronically, and I get everything prepped so you can make ONE TRIP to pick it up, pay for it, and take it home with you! And if you're a remote buyer (not local to Maryland), I'm used to dealing with shippers and all the extra paperwork that's involved for remote buyers. It's what I do, day in and day out, and your paperwork will be done quickly and correctly so all you have to do is enjoy your purchase! What do we sell on eBay? We're an RV dealer, and we sell clear-title, private-party trade-ins. There's a scrolling gallery on every one of my auction pages that shows all our current listings - we've got a little of everything. Want a dirt-cheap project camper? Got 'em. Want a good deal on a nice RV? Got those too. Motorized, towable, popups, 5th wheels, travel trailers, you name it and I probably have one (or more) that will fit what you're looking for. And sometimes (as you can see here)...we even have cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats...just keep an eye on our listings, you never know what might pop up! Don't see what you're looking for? Email me! I'll see what else we've got in stock that might work for you! Just because it's not on eBay doesn't mean we don't have it - we've got nearly 500 UNITS IN STOCK!! Can I come see an item in person before I bid? SURE!! Our location is at the top of this ad - there's a link to us on Mapquest, you can plot your directions right there. Just make sure when you get here, that you ASK FOR JOE (THE EBAY GUY). Why do I need to ask for Joe? Because I'm the eBay guy! I write all these ads personally. I take all the photos personally. I go through all the units personally. I don't use website photos or canned descriptions - I walk through them and check them out for you with my own two eyes. All that takes time, and effort - and let's face it, it's what got you interested in this item to begin with! If you have questions about this item...I've gone through it personally, and I can answer all your questions because of it. Sure, there are other salespeople here - but we all get our pricing from the same managers, so talking to someone else in the hopes they'll come up with a lower price than you see here on eBay? It won't work (and that's a direct quote from the company owner), so ASK FOR JOE and you're going to get a great unit for a great price, from someone who's gone through it personally and checked everything out for you so you know what you're getting for your money!! Ask for Joe - you get a great unit for a great price, I get paid for all the hard work I do...everyone goes home happy! Can I buy it outside of eBay? I guess you could...but why? My pricing here is thousands below retail - I've DONE your haggling for you already! eBay is quick, and it's easy. You don't have to be here in person, just click the button, make the deposit...and it's all yours! Locked up and waiting for you to arrive! There are no surprise fees when you buy it here - for you, or for me. I pay my listing fees when I put an item online, and there are no fees when they sell on eBay. And lastly, if I have to pull an item because of an off-eBay sale...it hurts my seller rating (eBay sees it as a "failure to fulfill an order"), so we try really hard not to do that. If you want to see it in person, come out and see it...but ask for Joe and bring your smartphone so you can click that button on the lot. People do it all the time! When you do, you get a great deal on an item...and I get paid for the work I did writing the ad! If you buy it from one of my coworkers...I don't get paid for all the work I did on the ad!! That doesn't save you any money...it just means THEY get paid, NOT ME. Do you like getting paid for the work you do? So do I !!!!!!! So...BRING YOUR PHONE and be ready to CLICK THAT BUTTON!!
