2006 Dodge Sprinter 140" Cargo Van T1N Description

2006 Dodge/Mercedes Sprinter T1N Cargo Van Brief Overview: Mechanically sound, drives excellent with tons of power from the 2.7L Turbo Diesel especially with nothing in the back as it awaits a custom interior. This was a well maintained van that I purchased after PowerDodge in Nebraska had done an inspection and some turbo hose replacement and general maintenance by the previous owner. The previous owner took good care mechanically but it was neglected on the inside and outside and he was off to purchase a newer sprinter to open up his brewery.
Mechanical: I have taken it to Linden Engineering, in Golden, CO one of the most respected sprinter shops in the country and did a post-purchase inspection on the van. Engine Oil changed in last 2000 miles and still shows a clear amber tint. The previous owner had the brakes done (they did not properly secure the break pad wear sensors so since then it will short out and trigger the sensor intermittently).
The Michelin tires are decent but on their way out. I figure when the tires are replaced the break bad sensor can be reseated. Tires are very personal so I decided not to install a new set for the sale. If I were to keep it I'd be putting dedicated winters or some All-Terrains but that will be up to you.
Their suggestions were: battery is running at 10-11 volts (may need to be replaced in the coming months - year).
Put in a new air filter (I had them do that while there).
E-Brake cable needs adjustment. (It works and I use it, but it doesn't have full play.)
Struts/Tie Rods could be replaced. (This is another thing I planned to do at the time I did tires and there are a lot of options (search eBay)).
That was it. Otherwise all tests pass and they just suggested the normal maintenance which is very important on these vans.
I included the injector photo to remove any fear of "black death".
Vehicle just passed smog in Colorado, clean title in my name with no Lien.
Cosmetic I have owned it less than a year and done all of the cosmetic improvements since the van was in excellent mechanical condition.
I had a local body shop (NOT a Maaco or Scheib) in Colorado do a full paint job inside and out, after I pulled out all interior panels, seats, flooring, door panels, door seals and more. They put a lot of work into it and did a good job. The paint color is similar to a Subaru (Desert Tan). It is a multi-stage with clear coat. This is a very difficult vehicle to paint due to the size and lack of contour so I would say the job came out GOOD, but not perfect or show quality- this was a refresh and very expensive due to the paint cost alone and getting it into a booth big enough. If you are expecting perfection I'd suggest a new sprinter from Mercedes.
There is a brand new front bumper and both front and rear bumpers, fenders, door handles, sliding door railing, side mirrors, and wheels have been painted flat black. (The hub caps need to be painted, I was maybe going to color match them to the exterior paint but now it is up for sale so your choice).
Has a new stereo with Bluetooth/USB/Aux. However, stock speakers are worthless and should be upgraded.
I've owned Westfalias, an old 207D European Sprinters imported from Germany (with 68HP) and driven all ranges of the new sprinters and these are exceptional and durable vehicles. It is sad to see so many of them beat to oblivion and sent to junk and scrap yards when there is a ton of life in them if properly maintained. They are the ultimate weekender and actually have power unlike older models. Reason for sale: This was a family project to go and adventure in Colorado, but with a newborn we won't be getting the use out of it we had hoped and I'm strapped for time to finish the inside with a new job. Someone can pick up where I left off and do the most fun part of all and not have to worry about any of the grunt work I had to do to get it to this point. SHIPPING: Buyer must arrange vehicle shipping. I would suggest uShip ( they have an App that makes shipping a car easier than going to the post office). 10% deposit due within first 48 hours, remaining amount due within 7 days from auction end.
