1972 Dodge Other Demon clone Description

Up for sale is a very nice '72 Dodge Demon clone with a 318 V-8. This is your chance to get a great looking Dodge Demon look alike for half the cost. This is NOT the 340 motor in this vehicle, otherwise the price would have been double what you can get this vehicle for. The Dodge started life as a dark green Dodge Dart and was converted in appearance a few years ago to look identical to the 340 Dodge Demon. I can tell you that this vehicle gets looks and waves every time you drive it. The Grabber Green just commands attention!
We went through this vehicle prettyclosely to see what was good and what can have some improvements. We make every effort to represent the vehicles as accurately as possible and would be happy to answer any and all questions you have about the vehicle that aren't addressed in this write up.
The Goods:The vehicle runs and drives good. We compression checked the motor and it is putting out 130+ PSI on all cylinders with virtually no leak down. The vehicle just had a complete tune up including points (remember how to set THOSE :) ) as well as plugs,distributor and rotor button. Timing was adjusted appropriately as well as the 3 barrel carb. She runs very smooth and accelerates well. Transmission is smooth as butter and no unusual noises from any of the drivetrain components. There was a leak in the power steering pump and we replaced that. Also, the front end had worncomponents that were all replaced....we spend over $1000 in new parts in the front end to get it to drive well....no issues. Brakes are drum all the way around and stop the vehicle well, although more effort than power discs of course. The body is in great shape on this vehicle with very, very little rust showing anywhere....a few bubbles under the paint on the right rear (very minor),but that's about it. Tires are in excellent shape with 8/32" tread depth all the way around. Shocks on front are brand new, rears are in great shape. The A/C system is charged and blows cold. It also justreceived an oil change and she's ready to cruise the streets!
The Opportunities for Improvement:There are two things that need attention.....it needs a new speedometer cable installed, and it needs the HVAC control module replaced ($55 at O'Reilly Auto). The vehicle is being sold as EXEMPT mileage since we do not know the true mileage since the cable needs replacement....it shows 83,375, but I cannot confirm how accurate this may be. This is why we did the compression test to make sure the motor was solid.
With all that said, this is a 45 year old car folks, and it's a great daily driver vehicle, but it's NOT a topnotch show vehicle and was never meant to be that or the price would be double what we are asking. The vehicle is being sold "as is" with no warranty....heck, who could have a warranty on a 45 year old car. It looks good, runs good, and would be a LOT of fun to drive around or take a great body and do your own full restoration.
