1966 Dodge Coronet Coronet 500 Description

1966 Coronet 500 Hemi Survivor. I recently acquired this car from the ORIGINAL OWNER!! He placed his $550 deposit andordered thiscar on January 21, 1966 at Indiana Dodge Truck Center in Indianapolis Indiana. It was delivered to him in March of 1966 at Palmer Dodge in Indianapolis. This was the parent company that owned the truck center. The great thing is that the original order form and MSRP sticker are still with the car!! After a great conversation with the owner,I learned that the Coronet was never a daily driver. He informed me that he used it mainly for vacations and weekend recreation. It was garaged since day one and that explains the rock solid body and undercarriage. The engine and transmission are original to the car as well as the complete interior. The paint is original as well except for the left front fender and right rear quarter panel. He had those areas repainted in 1970 to remove a few parking lot scrapes/scratches. Unfortunately it wasn't a very good job and the paint in those areas did not age well. I recently had those areas blended again and it looks much better. The great thing is there is NO RUST!! Mechanically the car runs excellent. It had been sitting for a long time so when I got it we changed all fluids, flushed the fuel and cooling systems, and turned it over at the crank before even attempting to start it. The gentlemen had rebuilt the Hemi years ago and said it ran perfectly when he parked it. He was right! After getting a little fuel to it, it fired right up and performs flawlessly. Now, I know you are wondering as was I, why did he paint the Hemi white?? he informed me that back in his day he was told it would run cooler if painted white. At the time of rebuild the original 2x4 intake and carbs were taken off and replaced with a single 4 barrel. The car runs great with the 4 barrel but I just recently bought the correct 2x4 intake and a set of correct Carter Hemi carbs as well as the correct fuel line. I also have the original air cleaner assembly that the owner had kept. As I am sure you know, these are very expensive and hard to find items. All in All.. an awesome Survivor ONE OWNER HEMI with documentation that includes the original order form, MSRP, and title, original engine, all original rust free body panels, original interior and glass, and mostly all original paint. How cool as that?? Don't let this one get away!! Think about it...When was the last time you saw a ONE OWNER HEMI CAR? Any questions please email or call 1-302-393-6192. Ask for Ryan. Please keep in mind this is a survivor car that is 50 years old. There are a few scrapes and minor dings and scratches indicative of this type of car. Good luck! Interesting trades may be considered.
