For sale by owner. 2001 Dodge ram 2500 extended cab (quad cab- all 4 doors open) short bed 3/4 ton pickup truck. 6 cylinder ISB, 24-Valve Cummins turbo diesel, 6 speed manual NV-5600 transmission, 4x4 HD transfer case with manual shift option. This is a texas truck, it has never ever had any rust, anywhere.
The auction ends on Sunday, May 8th @ noon:45, Eastern time. If you are interested in this truck, I suggest you set a reminder in your phone to check the auction over before it sells to the highest bidder @ No reserve
Factory options:-power driver's sear, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, mirror defrost, 4 wheel drive, cruise, AC, 6 speed manual nv5600 transmission, 4x4 manual shift transfer case, 3.54 ring and pinion. gear ratio
Options added before I purchased the truck:-Edge programmer, gooseneck ball in the bed-I have owned for 1 years +/-, I spent 3 months with it parked in my driveway doing nothing but installing the list of things below, just making it perfect...the 3 previous owners were also Cummins engineers, FYI...
What I have done to the truck (probably forgetting a lot, all parts are <9 months old, have less than 6000 miles as that's all I have put on the truck!): -35.5" tires, R20 wheels-3" front coil spring spacers ($200)-2" rear lift ($150)-4 new shocks on all 4 corners ($200)-Steering stabilizer ($60)-trailer brake controller ($60)-Steering box brace ($180)-4 ball joints, tie rods (left and right, inner and outer), drag link, sway bar, trac bar, extended sway bar links ($450)-new front brake pads, calipers, new front bearings, races, ABS sensors ($250)-new rear brake pads, park brake pads, park brake cables (all 4 cables) ($290)-new aftermarket front torsion bars ($900) twice as thick/long- "long arm suspension", this lifted truck rides very smooth, and the suspension is far superior to factory, it rides fantastically and probably better than any other lifted truck you have driven, unless you have driven one with a long arm lift already.-allignment ($65)-pull cable 4x4 on the dash ($130) [this gives you the option to have 2wd LOW, plus, there are no more vacuum or electrical requirements for 4x4, the transfer case is manual shift and pulling this lever on the dash engages the front axles/locks them in, far superior to factory, and 100% reliable]-dash pad cover ($60)-XM for life radio ($300)-subwoofer and amplifier ($200)-wheels ($900)-Tires ($850) Front tires have 2 miles on them, rear tires have 18,000 miles on them and I have owned them since new-Paint job ($2000, comes with a 4 year warranty, receipt in console)-obviously aside from the paint and alignment/mounting of the tires, I did EVERYTHING myself and labor/ my time isn't included in the prices above, they are just simply an FYI...[*pretty scary, I have thrown more than $7500 in parts @ this truck, not including the $9000 I paid for it < 1 year ago], and it's for sale @ no reserve
What I haven't installed yet:-brand new entire AC system ($260)-Factory steering/ sway bar/ drag link setup for 2003+ 2500/3500s (eliminates bump steer) ($290)-google search "2003+ Ram steering upgrade" for details/ reviews, I just hadn't installed yet cause ALL the front end parts, EVERYTHING is brand new...
I am a Cummins engineer as were all 3 of the previous owners. aside from the first owner. The truck was in Texas, with the first owner from 2001-2013. The 2nd owner bought the truck from the original, Texas owner and drove it up to Columbus, Indiana where he lives. He ran the truck into a deer @ 25 mph. The radiator burst and all new front end sheet metal: hood/grille/fenders/front right ball joints/ all damaged. He drove the truck (damaged the 2/3 mile home, DID NOT OVERHEAT) and the next day towed into the local dodge stealership. They totaled it (3 years ago, 3 owners ago! This truck has a "rebuilt" title, if that bothers you, feel free to move on, I WANT TO BE CLEAR ON THAT).
I replaced every possible thing I could possibly think of to replace. All parts were replaced with brand new parts aside from the rear tires. I have the majority of all the receipts. I never planned to sell this, ever. It was painted 3 weeks ago. I lost my job, and I have 8 vehicles, so this one is for sale.
Read this part of the listing very carefully please, there are some important details*:->if the listing ends for anything more than $11,000, the wheels and tires in the pictures go with the truck, otherwise, if the bidding goes <$11,000, you get the stock sized 265/75r16s with stock wheels and at least 50% tread life...->If the auction sells for more than $12,000, the XM radio (no subscription, XM ready for LIFE without any subscriptions/payments), the amp, and subwoofer also go along with the truck, along with the boxes of new parts I haven't installed (2003+ steering upgrade, brand new 100% complete AC system, every single AC component, lines, compressor, evaporator/dryer, everything except the condensor) also sells with the truck, and I will also throw in a full sized spare (holds air, but tread is low, just a spare, 35.5" tall, R20).----------->TO BE CLEAR, IF THE AUCTION SELLS FOR LESS THAN $11,000, you get factory wheels and tires and no R20 wheels with big tires, IF THE AUCTION SELLS FOR LESS THAN$12000, YOU GET A FACTORY RADIO, AND NO BRAND NEW COMPONENTS IN THE BOX
The buyer is responsible for pickup/ shipping, unless you previously arrange that with me. I am willing to drive this truck about anywhere or trailer it about anywhere. I have a dually and big trailer, if you want me to deliver it (NOT INCLUDED IN THE AUCTION), email me ahead of time and we will setup something that is fair and we both agree to. (probably about $1.60/loaded miles). Otherwise (if you don't previously discuss this with me), the buyer is responsible for pickup.
please read this entire page over twice before bidding, for sale AS-IS, Where-IS, in Columbus, Indiana, 47201 (Home of the Cummins diesel engine).
I am only selling this truck because I have too many vehicles. I guarantee it will take you safely anywhere in the country or your money back. I have recently changed EVERY SINGLE FLUID THERE IS on the truck. rear end, front end, fuel filter, trans fluid, oil, Tcase fluid, coolant, brake fluid, etc.
Things I would want to know if I were purchasing the truck: the dash is cracked, there is a cover over it, the driver's seat has a tear. When downshifting into 3rd gear, act as if you are downshifting into 2nd (almost shift into 2nd, then to 3rd), and no grinds, ever.If you drive this truck like a 16 year old who is trying to learn how to drive a stick-shift- and try to speed shift it from 2nd to 3rd, it will grind a little. If you wait a 1/2 second until the RPMs <1200, then shift into 3rd, no grinds EVER. [I changed the nv5600 fluid ($100 worth of fluid) and topped it off with an additional 1/2 quart as the forums suggest and this improved the shift, but as I just described, the transmission is a 3/4-ton or 1-ton diesel truck transmission and is not designed to be speed-shifted], it is, however, designed to pull +20,000 pounds, which this truck will do every day of the week. I get 15-18 in town and 18-21 mpg on the hwy depending on how much coal I want to roll ;)
One last time to be clear: No reserve auction, whatever the price is @ NOON:45 (Eastern) Sunday, May 8th, that's what it sells for. If the auction doesn't end @ a price higher than $11000, you will get it with factory wheels and tires. If the price doesn't reach $12,000, you get factory radio (No XM, no subwoofer or AMP), and no brand new parts in the box- $290 in another brand new front end, upgrade setup like 2003+ RAMs without bump steer, $260 brand new AC system).
a paypal deposit of $500 is due immediately after the auction ends. The rest of the payment, in full, is due within 1 week of the auctions close. Accepted payment methods include cash, in person, or certified check, we will meet at my bank to verify the validity of the check.
If you have any questions I haven't answered in the listing, just ask me please. I can provide a phone number if you want to talk.
Thanks for your time, test drives are more than welcome, as you can tell, I have nothing to hide,Chris
