2002 dodge caravan stealth camper van
2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Description
I have completely converted a 2002 Dodge GrandCaravan into a small RV. Started with removing the back seats, and laying down a solid floor. Built in single bed with memory foam matress. Storage for clothing, supplies, and tools under bed. There is a space for a 20-30lbs propane tank which leads to a camp stove, and small heater. I Installed a 100w high end solar panel with converter that leads to 2 batteries for storing power, then goes into a 3000w inverter for 110v power. L.E.D. lighting. Double tinted windows for stealth camping. Because this doesn't look like a typical RV you can literally park anywhere and get rest without being hassled. (well over $2500 build out).
It has a new sound system with usb capabilities. Pioneer speakers throughout.($250)
I upgraded the ignition to a advanced key systems push button start, with alarm, and auto lock/unlock features. ($900)
Interior is in fabulous shape. super clean cab, and front seats. Living space is under a year old. I built this out last Sep-Oct. Took it for a snowboarding trip to Colorado, Utah, and California for 3 months. It performed beautifully in the mountains.
There are 16" MOMO rims on it with brand new Altimax Arctic tires for great grip on snow/ice. ($1200)
Mechanically I have meticulously maintained this vehicle, because nothing ruins a fun road trip faster than not being on the road... New battery, alternator, wiring, ignition, pcm, starter, brakes, brake lines, new valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, wires, battery. New rear shocks just installed last week. ($2500-3000)
A/C works great! Heater warms up really well too.
I purchased this vehicle from a University, so it was fleet maintained it's whole life. I'm the second owner. The high mileage is all highway miles. My guess is this van will go another 90k easily. Judging by the way it runs. It is ultra reliable!
I'm sure I am forgetting a few things as it was all about the details when building this out. I'll point out more when you come have a look at it.
Van living is a growing trend for a reason. It is such freedom, and fun! It's like camping in style, without having to unload anything. Just park, and you are good to go. Wake up hit the road, or get out into the great yonder! Enjoy life!!!
FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS. IF YOU NEED DELIVERY LET ME KNOW. I will deliver this van anywhere in the U.S. for a $750 fee and airfare back to Wisconsin. One last road trip in it would be nice!
