2004 Dodge Intrepid ES Description

I'm selling my 2004 Dodge Intrepid ES. 2004 was the last year for the Intrepid and ES is the top tier model trim and includes many nice options. The car runs and drives great with no issues. Please read the entire description for full overview of the vehicle and everything about it. This will probably be the most honest and comprehensive ad you'll ever read for a vehicle. I try to make everything 100% accurate and everything described herein is to the best of my knowledge. I strongly encourage test drives to see for yourself.

General Description:

The car has about 153,000, which is right about average for this model year car. The car has grey exterior paint and black interior. The Dodge Intrepid is a very comfortable car that does nothing small. It's a full-size sedan and has lots of room. The front seats are often described as "captain's chairs" due to how large and comfortable they are. The back seats have lots of room and adults can sit comfortably without feeling cramped. The trunk is humongous - that's the only way to describe it. I'm 5'11" and can barely even reach the back of it. Under the trunk floor is a full-size spare tire (a rarity these days).

Mechanicals:
===========================
This car is very mechanically sound. It starts right up every time and drives straight and smooth. The engine is the upgraded 3.5L V6 which makes 234 HP and 241 ft-lbs of torque. The engine has no unusual noises and no leaks; it has plenty of power and can climb Sandia Peak with no issue. The transmission is a 4-speed automatic which operates like it just came out of the factory. Again, there are no unusual noises and no leaks from the transmission; it accelerates and shifts smoothly every time.

All the options work properly as well. The climate control blows hot in the winter and icy cold in the summer. All the power windows go up and down as they should (one squeaks a little) and have no leaks. The sunroof opens and closes smoothly and does not leak. The power seats and mirrors move as they should. The power locks and keyless entry both work and two remotes and keys are included. The 12V outlet works properly. All the lights, including the fog lights, work properly and illuminate as they should. The wipers operate as they should, as does the windshield washer. The tires and brakes were replaced approximately 10,000 miles ago and have lots of life left in them. The brakes are strong and stop the car quickly with no squealing. The radio works properly as does the 6-disc CD changer. I have no way of testing the tape deck (I have no tapes) but I would assume it works properly as does everything else. All gauges and indicators work properly and illuminate as they should at night. The cruise control works properly.

This car is mechanically sound and very reliable. Check Engine Light is not on. Last passed emissions on 05/04/2015 for 2-years. Not sure if you can use it to register for yourself, but certificate will go with the vehicle as proof of passed emissions.

Aesthetics:
===========================
Interior: I would rate the interior as a 4 out of 5. For the most part, the interior looks excellent with a few small exceptions. The driver's seat has some minor wear on it with some small splits in the leather on the front edge of the seat. There is a stain in the trunk carpeting.

Exterior: I would rate the exterior a 3/5. You might think it should be lower due to the paint (or lack thereof), but the body is in excellent shape for 12 years old. So, as I mentioned, the paint is basically gone. This car has not been garage kept and the NM sun has taken its toll on the paint. The body has some minor dents/dings for its age. There is no major body damage and everything is straight as it should be. If you are interested, last year I got a quote for a paintjob from Maaco and they said it would be about $400 to repaint the entire car.
