1949 Dodge Other Pickups Description

1949 Dodge Job Rated Truck
I am selling, at NO RESERVE, this great, old, Dodge B1HA job rated truck. Believe it or not this truck is actually a one owner, and I even have the original owners manual along with original service policy.
This truck was purchased new, and remained its entire life, in dry western Kansas. It originally had a solid mounted wood box on it, but aprox. 30 years ago, they added the steel hydraulic/dump box it has now to make it more useful around the farm. The miles on the truck are actual, and show 36k. I was told this by the previous owner, and have no reason to doubt him.
This truck was parked some 20 years ago, and replaced with larger and newer trucks. It was stored in the barn about half that time, then parked outside to clear up more room. Like many of these old trucks, I was able to get it running with a clean up of the ignition system, and some fresh gas. The old truck purrs like a kitten. Keep in mind, however, it sat for many years. It should probably be gone over and replaced belt, hoses, fluids, etc. And although the truck starts and runs great, I haven't driven it, mainly due to very questionable brakes. I added brake fluid and tired to pump them up, but didn't get much pedal. I'm going to say it will need a new master cylinder. The hydraulic dump bed does go up and down just fine, it does have a whine though, like its low on fluid, the cylinder is also the reservoir, and I'm sure some has leaked out over the years. This was a running, driving, fully functioning truck when it was parked, so its just going to need the typical things an old vehicle would need from sitting.
The body on this truck is very good overall. It does have typical dents and dings you would expect from a farm truck, but no major damage, and the truck would be rust free, had it not been for a floor mat onthe passenger side that held in some rare western Kansas moisture. It's not very bad, but that side of the floor does have a couple of thin spots. Glass is cracked, but all there. And its all flat, so its really cheap to replace if wanted. All the gauges work, carriers great oil pressure, and doesn't seem to want to overheat. All in all, its just a great project, especially for the weekend mechanic, because it already runs, and you basically know what to expect.
This truck will haul on an 18ft trailer, but it fills it up, I offer free loading assistance, and I'm flexible on time to pick up, as long as its paid for in a timely manner. My name is Cort 620-786-5172. Please call or text with any questions. I sell quite a few of these old trucks, so please check my feedback, and above all else, ask any questions prior to bidding, I want you to know exactly what you are getting. Thank you and good luck!
