1978 Dodge Monaco Brougham Sedan 4-Door Description

Own a tribute to a piece of television history…

Everyone remembers the Dukes of Hazzard, as well as the star of the show, the ‘General Lee’ Dodge Charger. But now is your chance to own a tribute to one of the other stars of the show, a Rosco P. Coltrane sheriff car. Up for sale is my 1978 Dodge Monaco “Dukes of Hazzard” Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane police car. This particular car started life as a regular Monaco Brougham (green on green), and was converted into a Dukes of Hazzard car around 2010 in Ohio (I have tons of pictures of the restoration/transformation) complete with period correct working lights, cb radio/antenna, and sirens. This Monaco has 37,867 ORIGINAL MILES and was originally purchased new by Edith Bond back on July 3rd, 1978 in New Philadelphia, Ohio at Harry Humphries Auto City.
The car has been to many shows, and it was even used as a backdrop for a Sonny Shroyer ‘Enos’ appearance a few years ago. Just recently it was displayed at the 2017 Pittsburgh World of Wheels along with a few other Dukes of Hazzard cars for the Dukes Reunion, and both visors were autographed by Catherine Bach ‘Daisy Duke’ and Tom Wopat ‘Luke Duke’; I have the picture of him sitting in the car signing it. Along with those signatures, the dash is signed by Chip Foose (also, have a picture of him in the car signing it) and a sticker in the trunk of Rosco P. Coltrane is signed by James Best, himself.

The car also comes with a weekend pass (2 adult admissions) to Cooter's Last Stand to be held in Luray, VA on July 29-30 2017.

- 318ci V8 2bbl
- 3 speed TorqueFlite Automatic transmission
- Magnetic ‘Hazzard County’ sheriff decals, as well as a light bar cover to keep things legal on the road
- 'Hazzard County' GOVT 83522 license plate to match the one on the TV series
- Light bar has been mounted, no drilling. It can easily be removed
- Power steering, power brakes
- New rear tires as of December 2016, newer front tires with plenty of tread
- Dual exhaust
- New Sylvania Performance low beams
- Trunk mounted fuel cell
- Hazzard County Sheriff shirt, tie, and hat
- CB radio works as a CB and a PA system through a speaker mounted under the hood
- CD/AM/FM head unit, also wired into exterior speaker to play Dukes theme while rolling up to a car show
- Original full size spare tire
- Laminated original window stickers and some original paperwork
- 1978 Monaco dealer brochure
- Factory a/c car, compressor and lines have been removed
- Cruise control does not work
- Delay windshield wipers, the linkage bushings need replaced. I have them. So the wiper motor runs, but the wipers don’t wipe (installed new factory style wiper blade inserts back in January).

I am selling this car due to the lack of indoor storage, and the fact I have a collection I am trying to downsize… I am also selling a 1989 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 police car here on eBay too. Visit my store to check that and other items out.

This Monaco comes with a CLEAN PA TITLE and currently has PA Antique plates on it. Everything stated above is to the best of my knowledge. More pictures can be taken upon request, and the vehicle can be inspected/ looked over by any potential buyer or third party inspector. The car is located in Allison Park, PA right off the PA Turnpike exit 39. I am selling the 1978 Monaco AS-IS, with no warranty stated or implied. The vehicle is 39 years old, however, it operates exactly as it should and I wouldn’t be afraid to drive it anywhere. I will also work with you if you need the car shipped, but the cost is on the buyer. After full payment is made, vehicle will need to be removed from my property within 10 days, or on the 11th day forward, a $20 per day storage fee will be charged. I only do this since I have had buyers pay for vehicles I’ve sold them, and then 5 weeks later they finally come collect their car when they ‘feel’ like it. I will work with the buyer, but at the same time I appreciate the vehicle being picked up in a timely manner so I do not have to charge a storage fee.
