1969 Dodge Charger SE Description

1969 Dodge Charger SE. VIN XP29H9B110549. Title is clear and in my name.
383 engine, Edelbrock Performer carb, Edelbrock DP4B aluminum manifold, Mopar Road Runner Cam. The engine and trans numbers are not matching. The engine serial number I have never been able to locate so maybe it was a warranty replacement. The transmission was destroyed when I got the car so it was replaced with one from a 74 Dodge. It has a B&M shift kit installed. The mileage is unknown prior to me owning it since most of the dash was missing or damaged when I got it. I did set the odometer to 0 when I replaced it. It now has a little over 8200 miles on it.
The car is in pretty good shape considering it's age, and the condition you see a lot of these in. It is not a new car or show winner though. It has scrapes, dings, and defects here and there. Car leaks from engine and trans when it sits for a while. It looks pretty good from 10-20 feet but closer inspection will show it's not perfect. I have owned this car since 1992. I purchased it from my Cousin who had owned it since 1986. The car is from California and has been mostly kept under a carport or in a garage.
I did the majority of work on this car in the mid 90's. This was the first time I had ever done such a substantial rebuild. It was also my first attempt at bodywork, or paint. I found out I can paint pretty well but absolutely hate bodywork, and it shows if you look closely. When I got the car it was in grey primer and lots of pieces. Took a long time to acquire the parts I needed to finish it but I had fun searching. Every piece on this car was removed with the exception of the doors, and rear axle (which has an open diff with 3.23 gears). The car was painted while completely apart so it got painted inside and out. I used Martin Seymour paint, and it is 1970 Dodge Super Blue. New headliner, carpet, glovebox liner, vinyl roof, windshield, etc. Numerous parts replaced or rebuilt. The front suspension was rebuilt with new ball joints, Poly bushings, etc. New fuel sender, vacuum lines, hoses, etc. I installed a front disk conversion on it in the early 2000's. The car still doesn't stop like I want it to so it likely could use new steel brake lines all around. The parking brake cables have been frozen for years. I just remember not to use it. I did an electronic ignition conversion and installed an electronic voltage regulator instead of the old carbon style. The car has power windows, the front ones work pretty well, the rear ones used to but now don't want to move. All other electrical items are presently working, headlight doors open and close, all the wiring is in good condition and not all spliced/hacked up. The clock movement was replaced with a quartz mechanism years ago and still works. The original A/C unit was missing so I replaced it with a NON A/C unit from a 70 Charger. I didn't want all that stuff under the hood anyway. The major metal parts in the car are good, frame rails, floor pans, etc. The trunk floor was replaced many years ago. Rear window trim clips rusted away years ago, and the lower corners of the window frame were repaired years ago but are now leaking again. I do have the trim piece for the bottom of the window. When I was painting the car I forgot to paint the fender tag with all the option codes so that is why it is a different color. All the serial number spots on the body match. The radio has never been installed. I do have it but I do not have a good trim panel. The battery in the car is not the correct size but it serves the purpose for now.
When I moved from Washington to Maryland in 2000 I couldn't take the car with me. I reluctantly sold it to my Brother In-law. During that time the left rear quarter was damaged by my Nephew who borrowed the car (without permission) on a dark rainy night. Slid it into a pole. The repair they had done is not good and you can see the wavy body line in the pictures. The trunk extension panel is bent up inside as well. A year later they were moving and I bought the car back. Drove my truck from Maryland to Seattle and back in 6 days. Crazy...
I don't really want, or have to sell this car but since I rebuilt it in the 90's it has only been driven a little over 8000 miles. I just don't ever use it. It sits in the corner of my garage, is in my way almost all the time. I have been telling myself for years I was going to do all sorts of cool things with the car and so far it is still just sitting around. The car is not currently tagged because I haven't driven it anywhere but in my yard since I moved to Virginia a year ago. The car really deserves to be owned by someone that will use it.
Shipping/delivery is up to the buyer to setup. I'll be here to help load, etc.
Car will have to be fully paid for before it leaves my yard.
The car will also be listed locally so I reserve the right to end this listing if someone comes by and wants to buy it.
