2000 Dodge Viper GTS Description

For Sale is my personal 2000 Dodge Viper GTS. This vehicle is in a very rare Steel Grey over Black leather interior. 2000 is the only year this unique color was offered in the Viper. This car is in beautiful condition and has had only very tastefully done, and highest quality possible modifications done. Everything done is fully documented I have a large binder full of receipts, original window sticker, books, etc. I purchased the car with the intension of keeping it forever and making it into a perfect show car. The 96-02 Viper GTS has always been a dream car for me, but I have decided I want a Gen V, which is why I am selling this.

I purchased this car in March 2014 from a specialty car Dealership in Florida for $33,000 knowing the car needed some work, but that the carfax was clean with no issues so it made sense to me as I really wanted a Steel Grey. The car spent most of its life in sunny California and definitely sat outside for quite a bit of time. As a result the paint was very faded when I bought the car. So a year and a half ago I had the car professional stripped and repainted by a very high end paint/body shop. As a result the paint is absolutely beautiful now. I moved away from the body shop last year, so I never took it back to be wet sanded or buffed out. That the car looks amazing as is, but will need to be wet sanded and buffed to smooth out any of the small spots, I just did not have the time to drive back and forth.

I purchased a set of GEN IV 5 spokes and being the perfectionist I am, I had the wheels professionally refinished to take out all knicks/scratches and paid $350 per wheel to refinish. On the rims are a full set of brand new Pirelli PZeros. The tires have probably 200 miles on them since I installed it. I have $5,000 invested into the wheels and tires alone. If you don’t want these I can keep and be more flexible with the price of the car and put the stock wheels back on. The stock wheels are not perfect they have some very small nicks but they are overall very good. The rear tires on the stock wheels are brand new I changed them right before I bought the new set.

Moving on I spent a lot of time sourcing discontinued parts to make the car special and to stand out. I found a set of the diamond cut clear markers for the front fascia. MGW Glovebox door, cigarette lighter and A/C knobs. I installed a Hurst short throw shift knob, bought a brand new set of the high end Snake Oyl Floor mats which if you go on their website its $350 for these mats. There is nothing comparable you can buy for a Viper anywhere. I installed a brand new Gen 3 steering wheel which is exactly the same as the Gen 2 except they were available with different colored “stitching” and I found one with red stitching to match the accents on the floor mats and motor.

Mechanically, the Head technical advisor for the Viper Owner’s association and formerly of the Viper club of America- Mr. Chuck Tator has been the only technician to work on this car since I have owned it. I dropped the car off to Chuck in South Salem, NY and asked him to make the car mechanically perfect. He went through EVERYTHING and I spent thousands of dollars making this car as perfect as possible. I have all receipts available and I am sure he would welcome a phone call to confirm any questions so you would be hearing it from the one of the most knowledgeable Viper experts out there rather than me. Mechanically the car needs absolutely nothing. You will not buy this car and have to spend thousands like you would on most any Viper you buy. Most people are not going to factor this into their purchase decision just like I did not when I bought but in hindsight I wish I did.
