1991 Ferrari Testarossa 2 door coupe Description

For sale bythird owner that purchased this Testarossa in August of 2000. All documents are present including original Ferrari North America Certificate of Origin, registration documents and copies of all 3 titles, maintenance documents and receipts. First owner purchased new in Phoenix on 25 July 1991 and registered/titled in Montana. Second owner purchased on August 1999 and titled in Missouri. I purchased the car on August 31, 2000 with 10,772 miles on it and the current mileage is 17,016. Since 2000 the car has received$11,395 in service at the Ferrari dealer Continental Auto Sports in Chicago or at Motorsports International in Springfield Mo.

This Testarossa is a great driver and can be driven confidently across country if desired. It comes with the Euro version Borla exhaust on the car The euro exhaust sounds better, runs significantly cooler, and provides moreHP.The full original catalytic exhaust systemis in good condition and comes with the car if you need it where you live or want it for a future sale.Alsoincluded are original owners and maintenance manuals, tool kit, jack, spare tire, etc. The tires are Eagle F1 and have good treadandsidewalls but they have a 2001 date code.If you want to go real fast you may want to consider new ones. They felt fine last week at around 130 MPH for a few minutes.

Clean CarFax but I will provide photos, video, and a written description in great detail of imperfections in the car that you can choose to correct if you wish. Or just save the money and enjoy the car, it is priced accordingly. What you read and see about this Testarossa is what you will see when you pick it up orwhen it is delivered. At some point before I owned the car it looks like it was backed into a pole. The deck lid and bumper have been repainted and some of the body putty used at the time in the edge of the lid (see picture and video) would need to be redone if you want to make it right. There are two spots on the inside top of the bumper where the paint is raising up (see picture and video). I do not know if this is due to the paint work done on the bumper or just due to the heat the catalytic converters put out over time. The euro exhaust is a big improvement in that area.

There are a few other minor blemishes I have tried to show in the pictures that are very hard to get on my camera or in the video. There are 2 small dimples on the left front fender, a small spot on the left headlight cover, one spot on the right front fender. These aren't chips in the paint and at first glance aren't noticeable. To see them you virtually have to shine a light on the spot and move around it until you see the light deflect slightly as it moves over the spot. These can be seen in the second youtube video below if you look closely. These are all very small and are probably in a position where a paintless dent expert could remove them if you wanted to do so. If the deck lid and bumper repaint bothers you they are often available for sale and could be replaced for around $7000, or buy a different car. The interior is excellent with the only exception being the leather at the edges of the instrument pod is dry and pulling up on the edge. The last time I had it serviced I was quoted about $300 to treat and rehydrate the leather on the dash. It does not need replaced, no cracks or tears, just dried out a bit from time.

I have focused on any issues the car has vs. all of the positives because I do not want to waste your time or mine. Don't get me wrong this is a great car, I wouldn't hesitate to drive it coast to coast right now. Engine, transmission, clutch, electrical, A/C, all work perfectly. The radio was replaced at some point, it works last I checked but I prefer the exhaust sounds myself. A previously installed alarm was removed but there are still a couple of micro-switches hidden under the radio cover that could be removed if they bother you when the cover is open.

Buying this car was the best money I ever spent. Beautiful yes, perfect no, but what is? Testarossa's are very reliable, and this one has been well maintained. I doubt it will ever be worth less than what you pay for it as the prices keep going up and this is the 1980's and 1990's Ferrari to own. Plus all of those teenagers from that time are in their thirties and forties now and are starting to buy. Yes I know, that is probably you, so buy one while they're still affordable. You can always put more money in your 401K/IRA later, and this may well be a better investment.

As of the listing date I have owned this car 5927 days and my conclusion is this. There is absolutely no higher fun quotientthan owning and enjoying the one car (or fill in your own blank here) you always wanted above all others. Driving it, pulling over to let a bunch of kids look at her, the smiles when people see her. It is fun to share the experience of enjoying this car. I am selling my Testarossa because Ihave matured to the point where I cannot easily get in and out of it, and I don't want it to sit and have things deteriorate from not being used. If you always wanted one come buy this car and go enjoy it! She's a great car! Just a note, but if you happen to live in Illinois and buy this car from an individual sales tax is a flat rate of only $1,500 on cars over $30K regardless of the sale price. This can save you severalthousand dollarsvs. buying from a dealer.
