1965 Ford Mustang Description

Up for auction is my stunning 1965 Ford Mustang fastback. This Mustang was built in San Jose, California and has spent its entire life here in the Golden State. It is an original four speed 289 cubic inch A code car and still retains its original rebuilt engine. Although this Mustang looks freshly restored, it is not. It has just been very well cared for during its life. I know the history of this car for the last 20 years as I bought it from a good friend who had bought it from his brother-in-law in 2001. When Ipurchased the car from my friend it was in very good condition except for a blown clutch which I replaced with a new Centerforce unit. I then proceeded to give the car a pro-touring look by performing a Shelby suspension drop, Willwood front disc brakes, 17 in. American Racing torque thrust wheels, and sticky 17 in. W rated tires. The Mustang is blast to drive, runs cool, has great oil pressure, stops exceptionally well, and is easy to maneuver with the factory power steering. I have sold a few of my cars and I find it best to describe the car in sections as follows:
ENGINE-The car retains its original 289 cubic inch V8 engine thatwas rebuilt 20,000 miles ago. It was fitted with an Ersoncam and the heads were ported. The engine is equipped with Hooker competition ceramic coated headers, Edelbrock performer intake, new Holly dual feed 650 CFM four barrel carb, and Mallory electronic ignition. The car also has an Edelbrock water pump and fuel pump. I recently replaced the oil pan gasket and front crank seal. TRANSMISSION-The four speed top loader transmission was rebuilt by Bill Thomas of San Bernadino 15,000 miles ago. Within the last 800 miles I have replaced the clutch with a Centerforce dual friction unit. When cold second gear is a bit notchy, but once warmed up it is very smooth. The rear end has 3.55 gears.EXTERIOR-The car is painted in Laser Poly Red tri-coat witha clear coat. The paint is now 16 years old but still shows almost new with just a few small flaws (email me and I can send photos of flaws if requested). It comes with 1 pint of paint for touch up. The car has no rust and the floors look like new. I do have photos of them from whenIreplaced the carpetandcan be emailed to you if requested. The glass appears to be original as the windshield, door glass, and rear glass still retain their original logos. The chrome ranges from excellent to good condition. All of the lights work as do the turn signals. The wheels and tires have less than 800 miles on them and are as new.INTERIOR-The interior is in very good condition needing nothing. I recently replaced the carpet and installed a modern stereo with auxiliary input. All of the courtesy lights come on when you open the doors. The dash lights work as do all of the gauges and warning lights. The only issue is that the speedo makes a clicking sound when the car is driving. I have not gotten around to fixing it as you can not hear it when the radio is on. The car has a modern air conditioning and heat system made by Vintage Air and works through the factory switches. The dash harness was replaced a few years ago when the air conditioning was installed.
To sum this Mustang up, I would classify it as a car that could be proudly shown at local shows and could be taken on long tours without worry. The car comes with three folders of receipts, the original owner's manual and two sets of keys. To see the car in action please view my YouTube video at the bottom of the listing.
I also have pictures of the engine casting number, fender stampand many other details that I could not fit into the ad. I can send these a file to interested parties if requested.
