1964 Ford Galaxie 500 XL
1964 Ford Galaxie Description
1964 Ford Galaxie 500 XL w/ 352 FE with only 40K miles. Mileage is thought to be original by two mechanics and an appraiser. It is also thought that a previous owner bored motor to a 390 as well. Car is very rarely driven and has been garage kept it's entire life. Assembled in the Twin Cities Assembly Plant (TCAP) in St. Paul, Minnesota on February 27, 1964, it spent most of its life in North Carolina. I purchased the car approximately five years ago from a collector in Tampa, FL. Car has been gone through and maintained by professional Hot Rod shop in Clermont, FL with many additions to make it more enjoyable, faster and safer! Too much to list, but some of the things completed in the last several years (all receipts kept):
- Engine and transmission gone through, engine detailed
- Converted over to electronic ignition, points removed
- New front and rear brakes
- New Ignition Coil, Ignition Wires, Points Eliminator Kit

- New crankcase vent air cleaner (Eckler's)
- New Hi-Po air cleaner assembly (Eckler's)
- Hi-Po 6 bladed fan (original 4 bladed fan included)

- New Grant Wood Steering Wheel
- Sunpro Super Tach II
- New Floor Mats (Eckler's)
- Radio rebuilt
- Clock rebuilt
- Clean Arizona title!
These are the highlights but much more has been done. Car sits on new Rage 17" rims with Goodyear Eagle RSAs. Original Hub caps and steel rims along with any and all original parts removed are included. Absolutely no rust, drives straight with absolutely no issues, knocks, pings or anything! Gets compliments anytime I bring it out. It appears a previous owner had it repainted as well in the original Wimbledon White. Reluctant to sell, but I moved to Arizona recently and need to make room for quads!
