2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake Description

Get a good look, everyone, because this is currently the nastiest, fastest, most brutal Mustang you can own today. This 1-owner 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake is $100,000 worth of upgrades on what was already a very fast car, all wrapped in the most brutal black wrapper we've ever seen. If you've got a car that looks like this, it had better be fast, and if you've got the stones, this car brings the speed.Unlike the GT500 on which it is based, this Shelby Super Snake eschews stripes and flash for a more purposeful look. The upgrades to the bodywork include a carbon-fiber splitter below the front fascia, the gaping carbon-fiber hood that's rumored to cost in the neighborhood of $20,000 all by itself, and low-contrast stripes that stay hidden until the angle's just right. There's no mistaking the Mustang shape, but in this car's case, it's steroid-injected and powered up to 11 on the dial. It's just beautifully built, as it had better be with a $150,000 sticker price, and with only 3198 original miles, it remains in virtually factory-fresh condition. It's obviously been properly maintained since it was built, and all the special Shelby add-ons make it distinctive, even in a land of high-visibility Mustangs. It's never been wrecked, obviously, and if you've been sitting on the sidelines waiting for the next big thing, well, here it is.The black leather interior is also beautifully finished and nicely upgraded over the stock GT500. The wheel is wrapped in grippy alcantara and the seats wear Katzkin leather that's grippy yet supple and comfortable. There's a big white cue ball knob for the 6-speed manual transmission and the original gauges are joined by a trio of auxiliary dials neatly arrayed down the driver's A-pillar. A touchscreen navigation system and AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo live in the center of the dash, and just about every feature you can imagine is standard equipment, ranging from A/C to power everything to stereo controls on the steering wheel. Shelby adds a support bar, which is a tradition dating back to the very earliest days of Shelby Mustangs, and it gives the convertible a very aggressive look. And speaking of convertible, the black canvas top is like new and stows so neatly that you don't even need to use the boot. The list of upgrades to the GT500's engine is extensive, long enough to add another 200 ponies to the car's already astounding 662 horsepower, for a total of around 850. Most of that comes from a really, really big 3.6L, twin-screwed Kenne Bell blower, which is more than 50% bigger than the factory unit. Of course, it also comes with an upgraded intercooler, bigger cams, special tuning, and other tricks. There are race-grade components, including the trick aluminum coolant tanks and a giant radiator up front to keep it all cool. Other upgrades include a beefier clutch, upgraded brakes, and custom suspension pieces that not only help it hook up, but make this Mustang a rather competent car in the corners, too. Performance is other-worldly, because if you see a hole in traffic you can be there almost instantly, and there are surely few other cars on the planet that can match this car on the roll. Full boost is there before you can get your foot on the floor, but you need to be at the top of your game to get the most out of it. If you're a poser, you're going to get hurt, but learn to dance with it and the Shelby will reward you with performance that'll tear your face off. It's all capped by a set of satin black forged alloy wheels carrying 255/35/20 front and 295/35/20 rear Michelin Pilot performance radials.Documented with all its original Shelby paperwork and receipts, this is an investment-grade Shelby that remains at the very top of the Ford performance food chain.
