1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT | ||||||||||||
This is the first year of the full size bronco. It is one of only two years that incorporated a solid front axle. This particular bronco has every option available in 1978 including the optional square headlamps and very rare sliding rear side windows. Custom 400 cid “M” engine bored .030 over. The 400 crankshaft was turned, polished and holes chamfered. New 351C hypereutectic pistons, Comp Cam “RV” cam, lifters, and double roller timing chain. New rings, pushrods, and lifters. New main and rod bearings. New Fel Pro PT head gaskets and intake gaskets. New connecting rods resized with ARP bolts and bushed for full floating piston pins. 351 Cleveland 2v Cylinder heads re-surfaced with new intake and exhaust valves. New valve guides and valve springs with retainers and locks. New rocker arms with Accel roller fulcrums. New A/C compressor - (134a model) - more efficient than York original. NewA/C hoses, dryer, idler pulley, O-rings and expansion valve. New PS pump and hoses. New water pump, voltage regulator, and 100 amp alternator. Sanderson coated shorty headers and new dual exhaust with Flowmasters and “H”pipe. New high performance fuel pump & regulator. New Edelbrock intake manifold andEdelbrock 600 cfm carburetor w/electric choke. MSD ignition with new Jegs magnetic distributor and plug wires. New heavy-duty radiator and hoses. Fan clutch and shroud recently replaced. Rebuilt / Resealed NP205 transfer case. Ford 9” rear diff completely rebuilt with new bearings, seals, and Detroit Locker with 4:10 gears. Dana 44 front diff (4:10) rebuilt with new Spicer limited slip, new bearings and seals. All u-joints have been replaced in the front axel, as well as front and rear driveshafts. New F350 brake booster and master cylinder. Recent front and rear brakes. I alsohave (not installed yet) the larger thunderbird front calipers and F350 rear brake cylinders along with fittings, couplings and brake line extenders. This Bronco has been painted recently and had new carpet put in at the time. The dash and front Bench seat (optional in 1978) are in good condition as are the rear flip fold seat, original back side panels, seat belts, sliding rear quarter windows and door panels. Updated instrument cluster light, alpine stereo with cd, mp3, usb, and aux. plug. Tailgate power window only opens from inside with switch. Outside key switch needs replacing. This is truly a four wheel drive truck - It has a Jeff's Bronco 6 inch suspension liftwith Deaver coils and leafs. There are no lift blocks on this Bronco. Everything was done right! It's got the Bulletproof heim joint steering links in front and James Duff extended radius arms and traction bars. The tires are Swamper TSL SX's in 36x12.50-15 and have awesome tread. The spare has never been on the pavement. The rear bumper is made by ProtoFab and has the swing out tire carrier. I'm sure I'm forgetting lots of stuff, but rest assured this is one seriously bad a$$ Bronco. Everyone loves it wherever I go. There is well over 20k into this Bronco (I have most of the receipts). You would be pretty hard pressed to find a 78 Bronco in this nice of shape with as much bad a$$ suspension on it as this one. I am pricing this Bronco with a starting bid of $14,000. My loss is your gain. Ifyou were to build another like this, it would literally cost you thousands ofdollars more. Don’t do it! This one is already done, don't miss this..!
