1978 Ford F100 Shortbed
The truck has a 96 mustang Cobra motor - 4.6 DOHC 32 valve and a T-45 5 speed transmission. I just put a new clutch in it. It has a Crown Vic front suspension under it with rack and pinion steering. New lower control arm bushings. Full length headers, 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust, an H pipe, 2 single chamber Flowmaster mufflers, and turndowns in front of the rear axle. Aluminum driveshaft. Ford 9 inch with 4.10 gears and a spool. 31 spline axle shafts and Mustang Cobra rear disk brakes. 1 1/8 rear swaybar. Single ladder bar with a shackle made with 3/4 heim joints. Emergency brake handle out of a Jeep Cherokee, fully functional. Clutch pedals and steering columnout ofa Mustang. it requires I key with the chip to start it. Corbeau CR1 reclining seats fixed mounted to the floor, very comfortable. All the turn signals work, they blink fast because I used the whole wiring harness out of a mustang and the Mustang has more taillight bulbs, so it thinks one is out. Windshield wipers work fine. I have lots of parts that come with it. Another 77grill, right fender, 2 tailgates, new door keys, LMC rear bed bottom corners, and aSTACK of half tread tires. The front tires are new Nitto 555 225/45/18 on 18x9 Cobra R rims. the rear has 255/40/18 on 18x10.5 rims. No wheel spacers. No radio. No AC. The cruise control does work, although sometimes it cuts off by itself. I took the cab off the frame, sandblastedand painted the frame and rear axle gloss black after I C-notched the frame and did an axle flip. All factory leaves are still there with a drop shackle. Rear slider window. The door windows work fine but the seals are old. The truck is turn key and ready to ride. Needs only finishing touches, or just ride it like it is. Major head turner. Sleeper truck.
I built the truck 3 years ago and have put about 2000 miles on it since. I bought the truck from a guy who primered the cab and painted some of the inside green. I don't know what he was thinking when he painted it. I am not a painter so I just left it. the interior was left plain and simple, so you can customize it however you like. I did 100% of all the work to this truck, so if you have any questions, just ask. The front grill is dented in a lil and so is the passenger fender. Thecab hit the bed on that same side, so there is a dent there too. I'm sure Iforgot a ton of things
