For sale is my 2008 Ford F-250 Super Cab 4x4 5.4 liter (gas) with around 48400 miles. The mileage may go up slightly as I still drive it once and a while. The truck is a automatic FX4 model with leather interior, dual heated seats, trailer hitch, and towing package.
Power windows and locks, back up sensor, power seats, cruise control, power folding and extending mirrors, adjustable gas and brake pedal, trailer brake control, and I'm probably leaving something out. The tires have lots of tread left. Approximately less than 6,000 miles on them.
The truck has a salvage title due to some storm/wind damage. Some of the windows were broken and the paint was wrecked (scratches/small nicks). The damage was cosmetic only. No flood damage. No damage to the frame, engine, transmission, suspension, or anything.
The truck was repaired by Automax (a dealer on south Broadway in Wichita, KS) which is where I bought it. I have pictures of the truck before it was repaired (to show the damage). I also saw the truck before it was repaired and I was shocked that this vehicle was salvaged. The paint looked like it had been through a sand blaster and all of the windows were cracked, and a few broken.
The paint job is about 2 years old and looks really good. The interior is also in great shape. This truck does not look like it's 8 years old. There is still some evidence of the storm on the side mirrors and front grill, but it is not bad. It just gives you an idea of what the prior damage was. The wheels show some wear consistent with an 8 year old vehicle.
The truck runs great. When I bought the truck there was a very small transmission fluid leak at the pan. I fixed it with a new gasket and put a new filter and fluid in it at that time.
The check engine light is on most of the time. The code is P0420 which is a catalyst system efficiency code (very common). See picture. It does not affect drive-ability and I've had it cleared. It will probably come back. This can be fixed with one new cat or an aftermarket tuner.
The drivers seat also doesn't recline. It seems to be stuck, but in a comfortable position.
Overall, this is a great truck with super low miles for its age. It drives very well and looks good. The heat and ac both work as well as the 4x4. It has given me no trouble. I simply don't drive it and is too much truck for my needs. I've put around 4k miles on it in two years. It really is a good looking truck.
I had a mechanic check the truck out last week. He was surprised that the truck has a salvage title. He keep asking where it was hit (no where). He said the front suspension is tight and everything looked good.
He said the front cat needs replaced to fix the check engine light. I would not hesitate to drive this anywhere as it's been 100% reliable. It is great in the winter and drives through snow and ice with ease.
Feel free to ask questions. Or let me know if you need more specific pictures. Blue book is well over 21k for a non salvaged title. You're not going to find a cheaper truck with lower miles. I will stress again. This has not been wrecked. There is no damage to the frame, engine, or any other mechanical components. 2 year old paint.
