Shelby Automobiles begins with a stock Mustang GT and adds a Ford Racing Power Pack and Handling Pack to each car. The Power Pack consists of a 90-millimeter cold-air intake, reworked engine calibration, upgraded exhaust flow (via a new X-pipe) and a shorter rear axle ratio (3.55 versus the GT's 3.31). The Handling Pack consists of shorter springs, stiffer dampers and an upgraded front antiroll bar. The shorter springs drop the car 1.5 inches.
These limited production cars were Mustang GT Premium Coupes reworked to Shelby GTs at Shelby Automobiles Inc. Las Vegas; with the following upgrades:
- 4.6L engine upgraded with Ford Racing power pack - 319 HP (FR1)
- Cold air induction system
- High flow exhaust
- Ford Racing handling pack (FR3) including revised front spindles, lowering springs, upgraded shocks and anti-roll bars
- Strut tower brace
- 3.55/1 HD rear
- Shelby appearance package including silver stripes, brushed aluminum grill, hood scoop and loving pins, rear spoiler, side scopes, COBRA badging (side, gas cap) and Shelby badging.
In addition to the Shelby add ons, I have added 20" KMC rims that are simple and resemble the original 5 spoke rim while giving a modern touch. They are wrapped in Toyo Proxes S/T tires with great tread still on them. The last thing I have added is an upgraded sound system with a JVC multimedia unit that handles bluetooth, aux, dvd, cd and everything you could want. Lastly, I placed a 12" sub in the back that is a side unit resembling the Shaker 1000 unit. I originally had 2 12'' subs in an enclosed box, but it took up the entire trunk and wanting the space, I put this single unit custom fit that hugs the side and allows full use of the trunk. I have the 2-12'' enclosed box with subs if you prefer the look over the space, but to be honest, I think the single sub puts out just as much if not more bass.
This car is in great condition and has been driven mostly just for fun. There is minor wear on the driver seat from getting in and out but it is not terrible (see pictures for yourself). I am the second owner. Hate to say goodbye to her, but am looking to move soon and can't take her with me.
