1919 Ford Model T Speedster / Truck Description
Titled as a 1919 pickup, this wooden bodied Model T Speedster presents in good condition, but will need a little TLC to make it a usable and fun runabout.
I've had this Tin (Wood?) Lizzie in my garage for a few years and have been intending to put some time and effort into getting it road-ready, however family and other automotive projects have taken over. As a result, I have to reluctantly sell it, even though it has the potential to be the most fun toy of all the cars I've had to date.
Here are the basic details:
- Montana title (Car is located in San Diego, CA)
- Engine runs well and sounds great
- New ignition wiring
- Refurbished Holley Carb installed very recently
- Starter fitted and working
- Coil boxes working well (with enough voltage to knock me off my feet when I stupidly grabbed a plug lead......)
- I don't know the type of wood the body is made of, but it's in good condition and looks unique
Here is what I believe needs to be done so the car can be driven:
- Leak at the on/off valve at gas tank
- Clutch is dragging - needs adjustment or replacement
- Reverse pedal hits steering column - needs to be modified
- No generator fitted
- Steering wheel/column has considerable play and needs adjustment/refurbishing
I have never driven the car and therefore never registered it for street use as a result, so unfortunately cannot provide any info on how it actually drives.
Overall, the car definitely needs a few hours work to resolve the above issues, but as it's a Model T, there is nothing complicated to be done - just some time and effort from an enthusiastic new owner.
Pick up a leather helmet and some flying goggles, then go out and enjoy this simple, but charismatic little jalopy.
Please submit any questions and I'll respond asap.
Thanks.

I have attached 2 receipts given to me by the previous owner. One is for miscellaneous items like spark plugs etc The other receipt is from a furniture shop who did the bench-seat upholstery. I also have spent $250 recently on a refurbished Holley carb. That's all I have available for receipts. Thanks for your inquiries - please feel free to send me more questions.
