1956 Ford Fairlane Custom Line
1956 Ford Fairlane Custom Line Description
Great Barn Find!
This car was stored on a church property for many years by the cars original owner. The pastor of the church had fallen in love with this car and purchased it with hopes of restoring it back to its glory.
After many more years have gone by, the project of restoring the car had become less of a priority as he did not have the means to rebuild the vehicle.
.
This is where I got involved.
I purchased the car as a parts car for another project that I was building.
In my research I found the vehicle had a 272 V8, cruse-o-matic, numbers matching and only 74,421.9 miles on it.
I came to the conclusion the mileage should be accurate because when I started the procedure to check the engine I discovered the make of spark plug was discontinued in 1961.
I oiled the cylinders and the motor turned over free of unusual noise.
I have installed new starter, starter solenoid, coil, I believe the timing is off or ballast resistor and points could be the issue why it hasnt started.
It has never been in an accident that I can tell. It has no visible damage.
The car rolls well, but has no brake pressure.
The car is in very good condition considering it age.
I can't bring myself to take this car apart, being this is an original, numbers matching car.
