This car was owned for many years by a local Texas gentleman I had the pleasure to know and work with on occasion, who recently passed away. This Ford Coupe was one of the most prized automobiles in his incredible car collection. This automobile would win at practically any event he took it to. Most recently in 2014 the car won Best Historic Automobile at a large show in Forney, Texas. This car has never been for sale in any fashion to my knowledge, until now. It is an absolute honor for me to work with this car knowing the man that owned the car, and understanding his love affair with it. This is one of those cars he would never even consider selling. If you're reading this, you understand how us car people are with automobiles that are special to us. This is one of those cars that you don't forget.

The paint and body were very well done. This appears to have always been a dry climate example. The body fit and finish is superb as is the brightwork. This car displays Henry Ford steel front to back. You can feel underneath the fender lips and the hood underside, all of it is smooth and clean. The car was taken apart and restored.

The interior is a time capsule in itself, displaying red leather upholstery stitched as it would have been many decades ago. The door panels and headliner are also in excellent condition. Everything works from the speedometer to the radio. The steering wheel is in beautiful condition as is the bakelite plastic knobs/controls.

The dash displays the original gauge cluster that has obviously been removed and restored to showroom condition. All of the gauges are functional as well as the back lighting. The underside of the dash is further evidence of the extensive nature of the restoration. This is a museum quality car but it would be an absolute shame if you never drove it.

The floor mat and pedals are correct and in great shape. The emergency brake assembly is also smooth to operate and fully functional. The brakes work correct on this Ford.

The dial radio is original restored and also completely functional, including the back light.

Under the hood is the famous Flathead V8. This 221 cubic inch engine runs smooth and has plenty of power. 85 horses is enough to move this '40 Ford Coupe down the road with authority. She cruises no problem at all 50, 60mph. I like take it easy on country roads and run about 40mph. Again, be sure to check out the video and see her road manners if you can't ride shotgun with me. The fluids are all current and in check. The car will be gone through once more before it is sold to a new keeper / owner.

Further inspection of the engine compartment reveal great attention to detail. You'll find the correct oil filter assembly along with the updated original-look braiding wiring. All of the this was done in the restoration efforts, This car was completely disassembled and restored when you really start looking close. I wish that I had a build album of the car or builder history, but I do not. You can just tell the kind of care that went into this Ford.

The undercarriage further reiterates the nut & bolt frame-off restoration. The suspension, flooring, frame, and components are in excellent condition. The car was kept in a climate controlled private showroom for many years, I can attest to this personally because I saw where it was kept, among several fine automobiles.

The chrome is excellent.

In addition to the video work, my photographs were taken on Friday, October 14th, 2016 near Rockwall, Texas close to the current owner's home.

I found a chip touched up on the passenger front fender that is hard to spot in the photos. This chip can certainly be repaired to disappear. I haven't found any real issues or problems with this Ford during my extensive inspection. The paint is smooth and glassy, a straight true reflection throughout without signs of aging. I also have access to a lift, check out the underbody photos. I want to reiterate that this car is mechanically sound and has no unusual engine or gearbox noises. The car really tracks straight down the road and drives out nice.
