2012 Ford Expedition SUV, XL, 5-Door, 2WD - 2 Wheel Drive, Ford Triton 5.4 Liter 3-Liter Valve Gas/Flex-Fuel Engine, Automatic Transmission, Cruise Control, Hydraulic Brakes, Power Windows, Power Locks, Air Conditioning, Heat, Vent, Defrost, Power Cloth/Vinyl Seats, Rubber Floor, Spare Tire, Owner’s Manual, Trailer Receiver Hitch, 119” Wheelbase, GVWR – 7,300#, GAWR Front – 3,300#, GAWR Rear – 4,250#, P265/70R17 Tires, VIN: 1FMJU1F52CEF27493, 159,931 Miles.

Located in Mississippi, this SUV was owned since new by a neighboring state sheriff’s department, was used the agency as a patrol vehicle and after experiencing engine issues was replaced with a new one, replaced because of engine issue and miles, if the unit would have had lower miles they most likely would have just repaired, was about time to replace anyway. We purchased the SUV directly from the agency along with some other items, not from a broker, dealer or auction, no use for an additional SUV or extra time to spending repairing and fixing up so turning it into cash. The SUV has been fleet maintained and taken care of by the agency, has been used and has over 150k miles but was serviced properly since new, don’t have the actual service records but know they go by the book! We were told before purchasing that the officer driving experienced a loss in engine power and it started missing, he parked the unit and no work has been done further, because of the mileage it was up for replacement anyway. The engine is a little slow to crank but does crank and run, we cranked it once to load on trailer and once to film video for eBay listing, we do know that it was not run or driven for any distance when it started doing this so whatever the issue is no further damage was done by driving or running! Once cranked the engine runs rough, will idle up and does not run hot, has good oil pressure, etc. just runs rough. When we first brought it in we hooked a diagnostic computer to it because it had a “check engine” light on, it was showing code P0301 which is cylinder #1 misfire, we then researched and bought a coil pack for that cylinder, replaced it and now the code is not showing but the engine is still doing the same thing, a little slow cranking and then running rough, we have not worked on the engine any further although we have talked to several people and researched online. These 3-valve 5.4 liter engines have a camshaft chain going to each side of the engine and are well known for camshaft, cam-phaser issues, it is our understanding that these can be repaired sometimes if still running and no bent rods/valves with some type delete kit and a cam-phaser kit which is not as costly as what we mention next, in the event the issue has caused further damage we have read you can either do the head, do a kit and spend around $1,800 repairing or just replace the engine. If you are familiar with these engines and repairing them then this is a good project for you or if you know someone that is then this is the ticket! Other than the engine please understand the unit is 4 years old, has over 150k miles on it, was used by a law enforcement agency, the agency had police lights on the roof and in the front and back which have been removed, had antennas through the roof, had a prisoner partition and police seat in the back, we do not have the 2nd row back seat, the 3rd row folding down seat is in it but we do not have the 2nd row seat, the door panels on the two rear passenger doors have been removed and we do not have, the stereo has been removed and we do not have, the front push bumper has a dent in the front of it and is bent, the driver’s seat has a tear in it, the headliner is stained in the rear where vents are in roof, tire condition can clearly be seen in the photos, other than that what you see is what you get! You are buying the SUV to match the photos and videos of this listing, to crank and run but to have known engine issues, have a clean, clear transferable title, otherwise as-is!
