MUSTANG CLUB OF AMERICACONCOURS "BLUE GRILLE MEDALLION" AWARD RECIPIENTBest of the BestOriginal Documentation, Service Records and Judging SheetsIncludes Original Turbine wheel & tire set and Pony wheel & tire set
This 1989 Fox Body Convertible is in exceptional show condition. From 2004-2012 it won 1st place Gold 10 times in Mustang Club of America National, and Grand National events. In 2013 it was awarded MCA's highest honor with a blue concours grille medallion in Mustang, Oklahoma. For the 1989 model year there are only 3 Mustangs in existence that have won this award. The 30,000 original miles were mostly accrued from driving to national events throughout the country. This car has been shown at the MCA 30th Anniversary in Birmingham, AL, 40th Anniversary Nashville, TN, 50th Anniversary in Charlotte, NC and many more. Since retiring from the show circuit this Mustang has been enjoying the quiet life cruising around town and going to local shows. This car can be driven anywhere and attracts attention wherever it goes. It is truly a pleasure to drive and does not have a squeak or rattle anywhere. The convertible top is not sound proof or made like they are today so there is some wind noise with highway driving. During its time on the show circuit oil changes were performed at 1000 mile intervals. The battery tray and undercarriage were hand waxed on a regular basis along with the body. The black top in in excellent condition and goes up and down with no problem. There are two gray dust boots for the top that go with the car one is original and in the original bag in the trunk. The factory original boot shown in these photos. Auction winner will get the original set of turbine wheels and the pony 5 star wheels both have tires with the majority of the tread life remaining.
Needless to say this is one of the best and most highly decorated Fox body Mustangs you will ever see. They are sought after cars for good reason. Very well designed and built, super reliable and a blast to drive. These well preserved 5.0 GT convertibles are destined to become very collectible and a lot more expensive than they are today. Over the past several years the popularity of the 87-93 has really picked up just as the first generation Mustangs started to excel at around 25 years old. This particular example would be a great choice for future collectibility due to its obsessive maintenance and pampering over the past 25 years as well as its highly distinguished national awards. Only a handful have ever won this award so it's not something that comes up for sale often.
Tires, seats, carpet, paint and body, undercarriage, mechanicals, clutch and transmission all in excellent condition. The 5.0L engine runs strong but is quiet with the OEM mufflers. Transmission and clutch shift very smoothly.Original spare tire is still in the trunk.Factory AM FM cassette stereo sounds great.Air conditioning blows cold and has been converted to todays r134 refrigerant. Two top boots and two sets of wheels and tires sell with the car.

On Nov-06-16 at 22:10:15 PST, seller added the following information:PLEASE NOTE:The heater hoses were bypassed when Ipurchased the car from the previous owner. He lived in FL and I live in AL so it has neverreally been an issue for me. The left side rear quarter windowneeds help to lift it. I'm not sure if its a stripped gear or off track but it does go upand down. Theseare both very common issues on the Fox body Mustangs. Thanks again for yourinterest reserve is lowand should be selling soon. Many Blessings, Paul
