Here's a real nice 65 fastback built to honor the Shelby GT 350. You can call it whatever you want, clone, replica, tribute or Shelby want to be. It is one nice restoration with modifications to resemble a GT 350 so you could say it is a restomod. For those who may not be familiar with early Mustangs, this IS NOT 1966,67, 68, 69, 70, coupe or convertible.The rebuilt 289 and the C4 transmission are original to this car. The rebuilt engine has been upgraded with a thumper cam from Compcams, Edelbrock intake manifold, Holley carb, pertronix ignition, and cast aluminum valve covers. Also new to the drivetrain are oil pump, water pump, fuel pump,starter, alternator, regulator, starter solenoid, flex plate, engine mounts, and of course battery and cables. Cooling system includes new aluminum radiator, allhoses, and heater core. All new front suspension with quick steering kit, heavy duty sway bar, Flaming river steering box and disc brakes. The rear end is a 9" positraction with disc brakes and mounted with new springs and shocks. Underneath is all new brake and fuel lines and hoses and a Shelby style exhaust exiting out the sides. BF Goodrich radial T/A 60 series tires are mounted on 15 x 7 American mags. The body restoration and modifications were professionally done on a rotisserie which makes a quality job much easier. Most of the interior was replaced or refurbished. This was an early 65 retaining some of the 64 1/2 parts including hood w/ non folded edges, clip style door handles and window cranks, rear fender extensions, and heater control. There is somany new parts installed on this car it would be nearly impossible to list. As you can see there has been a lot of attention paid on detail. The odometer reads 78000 but there is less than a hundred miles since the completion only a few weeks ago.
