Up for sale is a very well cared for 1996 F250 super cab, short bed with the 7.3L Powerstroke turbo diesel and a 5-speed manual transmission.
This truck is a rare survivor, and it’s mostly all original. It’s absolutely rust/rot free, it starts, runs, and drives great, and everything works as it should. The AC/Heat work great, the cruise works, and even the parking brake is properly adjusted...These trucks are getting harder and harder to find especially with low mileage and the highly sought after 5-speed manual transmission. The truck only has 126k miles, and it appears to be very well cared for.
I looked for this truck for several months, and I found it from a dealership in Colorado. They changed all the fluids, installed new glow plugs, serviced the fuel system, replaced the fuel lines, and all the other maintenance needed to get the truck into excellent running condition. (I have the receipt for the service). I hate to sale it, but it’s got to go because of a new addition to the family.
From what I’ve been able to gather I believe the previous owner was a car guy who used the truck to haul a mustang around. It’s a Colorado truck, so there is no rust anywhere. The area it came from used no road salt, and the region was very dry making for a well preserved truck.
Mechanically the truck is in excellent stock condition. There are no engine/drive train mods, and even the exhaust and intake are stock. The truck even appears to have the original Ford dual mass flywheel/clutch. These stock clutch setups make for a real heavy pedal and slow shift, which means that you know this truck has not been hot rodded or abused. The clutch still functions fine, the new owner can probably get a lot of mileage out of it, and it‘s my daily driver, but I’d recommend replacing it with an aftermarket setup at some point because a lighter pedal feel should make shifting quicker and more fun. If you don't mind the feel of a heavy truck clutch then you can leave it as is.
The interior is in great shape with no tears, rips, or funny smells. It appears to have never been smoked in. The steering wheel leather is not cracked or torn, and the dash is not cracked. The wheel and dash both had covers on them that will come with the truck. You can still see the Velcro on the dash that the cover attaches to. The drivers side seat bezel is cracked (see extra pics) but you should be able to pick one of these up off a wrecked truck for around $20.
The exterior looks great and the paint has an excellent shine to it. It really pops in the sunlight. The wheels are satin aluminum with black plasti-dip. The wheel wells are capped with a nice set of fender flares that can be removed. The fabricated bumpers are really heavy duty with diamond tread accents. The bed has a spray in liner. The paint does have a nice shine to it, but it does have some cracking/crows feet showing on the hood and drivers side. This is due to the CO sun. Also, there are a few dents, dings, scratches etc…I tried to get pics of each body panel so that you know exactly what you’re getting.
Please take a look at all of the pictures. I’ve included a link below to over 130 pictures so that you can see exactly how nice this truck is.

Keep in mind that this is not a brand new truck. It is 20 years old, so there is some wear and tear. However, for the age it is one of the finest lowest mile trucks that you will find.

I’ll go ahead and say that my reserve is set at $12k so that you don’t have to ask.
The truck is for sale locally, so I may end the auction at any time.
I’ll be happy to pick up the buyer from my local airport (GSP) so that they can drive it back home.
