I am a PA used car dealer and just took this 2004 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer on trade, previous owner was driving it daily but did point out some issues that will need to be addressed at some point.
1.Check engine light is on due to a number 3 cylinder misfire code, most likely an ignition coil is bad, a common problem on these vehicles and available on eBay cheap.
2.There is a power steering leak where after a few days you will have to add some fluid to top it off and will leave a stain in your drivewayI'mnot sure which hose it is, again another easy fix.
3.Rear taillights have cracks that were covered with tape to pass inspection, available aftermarket on eBay cheap.
4.The radio volume knob is finicky, if you turn it too fast it will blast or not turn volume down or respond, but if you turn it slowly it will work as it should.
I do not fix cars being mainly a wholesaler so I just pass them on to either a retail dealer to fix, recondition and profitor sell them to a retail customer as-is at a discounted price to reflect the repairs needed and move on to the next one.
This SUV runs and drives fine, transmission shifts smooth, engine sounds good, interiorand body are in good shape and I didn't notice any rust.
NJ inspection just expired in October of this year. It has 197k NJ highway miles.
Features All Wheel Drive, leather interior, sunroof, 4.6L V8 that are known to go for over 250k miles, it also hasa third row seat, tires are in great shape, flip down DVD player in back for kids, however I did not try it, I did not have a DVD available at the time.
This is agreat fixer upper SUV for not a lot of money if you are handy or have a mechanic that you use who is reasonably priced the needed repairs shouldn't cost too much to fix.
Vehicle is being sold AS-IS, no Warranty just as it was traded in to me and it is a 12 year old vehicle so expect some flaws in the paint like scratches and dings here and there.
If you have any questions please ask and I will try my best to answer them, I don't have any history on the vehicle because none was given by previous owner, I can only tell you what I know from what I was told and by personally taking the vehicle on a short road test before listing for sale.
Winning bidder agrees to send a non-refundable $500 deposit within 24hrs via PayPal to hold vehicle for 5 days until pickup and the balance will be due in cash only.
Has clear PA title in my business name.
If you have low or no feedback I will cancel your bid unless you contact me BEFORE bidding, I have had too many people bid and not respond and my eBay insertion fee as a dealer is not refunded even if you don't respond or complete sale.
I am a serious and reputable seller, have a look at my feedback and bid with confidence the highest bidder will own this vehicle at the end of the auction with NO RESERVE!
Thanks,
Rob
